save your time and money. this place seems like a good idea until you actually arrive. the building itself should be enough to turn the car around. it screams 'we are trying to look chic but in realty...' the foie gras was written up as the best on 30-a. i'm certain they don't serve it anywhere else because this could not have been worse. it was a tiny piece of liver on top of maple syrup soaked french toast. speechless. awful. my salad came from a bag with three small grape tomatoes smothered in straight vinegar. my crab cakes were ice. i sent them back with my first bite taken. they returned nuked.....same plate of food. my friend's risotto was undercooked and my other friend's was mush. the chocolate trio dessert included an under done creme brûlée, two fried brownies each the size of a single mini meatball, and a chocolate mousse...which was presented in such an indescribable and insulting manner that only a photo can do it justice. ive posted it here. the gordon ramsey photo at the entrance would have had us exiting immediately, but it was not spotted until after this incredibly disappointing meal. basamati's is close and always good.

great view, great experience. my husband and i ate at vue on 30a last night and had a wonderful experience! the live music was great and the view was the best we've seen here on 30a. we started with foie gras and it was out of this world. i ordered the pistachio crusted grouper which was incredible, and he ordered the rack of lamb--both were very good. the staff was friendly and the restaurant had a great ambiance. we shared a nice bottle of wine and took in a beautiful sunset. we can't wait to come back and we are bringing friends!

utterly forgetable. well, we thought this was going to be our go to place on 30a (see last review). fast forward 4 months. wow. this simply was one of the worst dining experiences in the 15 years we have been coming/living on 30a. we sent back a simple filet 3 times (we never send food back but how hard is it to make a grilled fillet with nothing on it?). my lobster ravioli was so bad it was unedible. in fact it was so bad that i can't believe it left the kitchen. doughy, amporphous, lobster puree, and smothered in a cold sauce and then covered will balsamic vinegar. the standard fruit de mer was completely different than jan and essentially covered in oil. it was ok (and the risotto was actually perfectly done) but what a let down. the wine list has changed and is sectioned into wine "styles". worthless for any foodie. the wine list is simple and our cnp was reasonably priced and probably saved the meal. i am not sure how a place could change so much in 4 months, but i would stay away, even with the amazing view this place has. go for drinks. we thought the new manager would make it superb, but even with a moderate crowd it didnt pass even the simplest tests of foodie 101.

whoa.. ate there for the first time after hitting every place on 30a over the last 10 years. unbelievable. the food was amazing, including an extensive gluten-free menu and eclectic wine list. the seafood risotto misto and pistachio grouper were perfect and the martinis were spot-on! ambiance was wicked and the view...nuff said...it's in the name. hopefully with new manager brooke this becomes our "fish" replacement on 30a.

too noisy for me. we went to the vue on 30a last evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. our reservation was at 5 o'clock because we wanted to enjoy the sunset. we were seated promptly with a lovely view of the ocean. our waiter was prompt in providing our drinks and water glasses were filled promptly throughout the evening. our used dishes were also removed almost as soon as the last bite left the plate. we ordered filet, grouper and t-bone and though all the meals were very good, i did not like the bread pudding that came with my steak. odd kind of a side and i would have preferred a choice of a regular potato or a pasta. also they charged us to share a salad which is crazy since salads are $12 and really too large for one person. what really spoiled the evening for us, however, was the live music playing in the lounge. when we entered, the lounge was full and yet we were the first people in the dining room. a party of 5 was then seated and then a couple of other tables. apparently most people were there for the music and drinks. the band started shortly after 5 and was very, very loud. we were somewhat taken aback as we could barely have a conversation with each other. i did ask the manager if the music was always that loud and she replied, "it is on saturday night!" there is no partition between the lounge and dining room so the noise is loud throughout the entire place. i would expect it at 7 or 8 o'clock, but did not expect to feel like i was eating in a bar at 5:00. other than a slight hitch in getting our food (table next to us seated 20 minutes after us got their food first). our waiter apologized and did offer us one complimentary dessert for the table to share (guess we all need to like the same dessert). that poor table next to us sent 2 chicken dinners back and then waited and waited. one woman never ate and the other took hers home. overall, the service was impeccable and the food was good and the atmosphere and view were great. however, they need to decide if they are fine dining or a lounge. i wouldn't pay that amount of money for a meal again to not be able to speak to my dinner companions.

best steak ever!!!. last night, 12/1/12, my husband and i decided to have dinner at the vue. we are locals, but this was our first experience dining here. i ordered the spinella, my husband had the osso bucco. my steak was cooked perfectly at the temp i had requested(med/rare). this was the best steak i have ever had!!! it was so tender, and melted in your mouth like butter! i am a steak and potatoes girl, and this surpassed any steak i have ever had before. his entree was also grand in stature to any fare we have had in this area. we will definitely be back!!!

very nice and quiet place to enjoy a fine meal while overlooking the beautiful gulf. the service is great and the food outstanding! this is not your typical fare. we had the scallops, shrimp and the grouper. everyone was pleased with their meal.

excellent. we enjoyed a nice dinner last night (7/12/12) at vue on 30a. we arrived on time for a 6:30 reservation and were seated immediately with a table along the windows overlooking the beach...one of the best views in the area.
sandi greeted us and explained the chef's offering that were not on the menu. we ordered wine and placed our order for a crispy oysters, shrimp/crab spring rolls, a wedge salad, the ahi tuna and whole lightly battered redfish.
all dishes were excellent and the whole fish was a fun choice...so much for proper table manners. the service provided by sandi was outstanding. prices were in line with similar restaurants in the hwy 30a area.
we rank this in the in the top 10 in the destin/hwy 30a area. it's just a tad below our favorites cuvee bistro, fish out of water and v seagrove, but it's a great restaurant in an area with many excellent choices.

outstanding dine at vue on 30a!. we had heard a lot of mixed reviews since the restaurants remodel, but were pleasantly surprised by a fine meal in a fabulous setting. we came in off the beach and sat outside. the staff made arrangements without any fuss and promptly started serving. our waitress kelly, was magnificent and every dish in our party of 8 was brought out in a good time and with great presentation. the filets were cooked to perfection, the pecan encrusted grouper over risotto was superb, the soup and other apps were ridiculously good. it was an overall great experience and we all had wished that we had come sooner. i highly recommend the new vue on 30a for either casual outside dining or more formal inside dining. chef giovanni and his staff made a great presentation and we will definately be back! thank you!
