vito's italian restaurant

absolutely the best authenticitalianfood i have had. real food that tastes and smells wonderful, 5 stars for sure. definitely going back again and again

i want to start by saying how shocked i am at some of the poor reviews. i know that when vito's first re-opened at the new location they did have some growing pains but please go back now that chef giulio has hisitalianvillage firing on all cylinders! you will not be disappointed.
never a bad time or meal !!!: this is one of those places that no matter what time you go, what you order, or who you are with, you will have a great time with great food and a truly friendly atmosphere. an authentic family owneditalianrestaurant right here in jacksonville. you would expect to find a place like this in new york, chicago or philly. the staff is fun, helpful and courteous. my favorites are the lobster ravioli, veal chop, osso bucco, chicken/veal/shrimp francese, seafood bada-bing, stuffed portabella mushroom and fried calamari. end your night with some espresso or my favorite... limoncello. giulio, the owner/chef will check on tables him self and make sure everything is just right. most of the workers are family and the bartenders remember your drink and how you like it !!! warning: this place is very addictive !!!

on a recent visit with the family and toddlers we walked over a mat with vito's logo outside that was a mixture of light grey and black dirt from what looked like never being cleaned.

once inside, the hostess brought us to our table. the server quickly came by and took our drink order. in addition we asked to order one kids meal to start for the toddlers to share with the anticipation of ordering another kids meal. the server said we couldn't split the kid's meal. i said ok, we'll order an adult dinner and split it. the waitress said there would be a $5 share charge. bahaha. for a toddler? yeah, because they eat a lot of bread and salad.

so we ended up just ordering 2 kids meals together.

after multiple times at this new location, vitos' inexperienced servers still seem to amaze me.

i think we will stick with the other relatives in town that serveitalianfood.

stop reading reviews and just go to vito's. we recently ate at vito's for the first time and it was amazing! i have eaten at some really gooditalianrestaurants in little italy in nyc and san fransisco, and i would rate vito's food as one of, if not the, bestitalianmeals that i have ever had. the portions were large and we all tried each other's dishes-no one had anything that was less than outstanding food. i had completely given up on finding even averageitalianfood in jax and just drove past vito's for years assuming it was more of the same. big, big mistake. on vito's high recommendation, i got the veal saltimboca and i thought that i was going to have to fight the other people in our group to get to keep it. hands down the best veal saltimboca ever. we also had the portobella stuffed bada bing and the scallops bada bing as appetizers for the table. i am not sure what type of cheese went into it but it had a smoky, almost chocolaty flavor and was absolutely delicious. reasonably priced (and you could probably split an entree with someone) and a great time with great food. the only regret you will have about this place is that you didn't try it sooner.

i love it!!!. i have to say this is the best food in jacksonville always on point with my the dishes i order.. a peace of heaven with every bite. so if your looking for realitaliandishes and a good family who always seem to put a smie on your face this is the place you should go.

had dinner and it was excellent. baked stuffed shrimp awesome. strongly recommend for good home styleitaliancooking.

may be the bestitalianfood ever. first off, the food is amazing! but, and it is a big but, the service has always been terrible! they are definitely trying right now to make it better, but overall, go preparing to wait. but, it is worth it!
