vito's italian restaurant

really cheesy in a good way. my hubby and i went on friday for "date night". we were really impressed! the atmosphere was cozy, the servers were attentive and the food was really really good. we ordered the lasagna and the eggplant parmesan and both dishes were cooked to perfection with the right amount of tasty red sauce and an ample amount of melted glorious cheese. the garlic bread and the minestrone were also very good with the minestrone being a thicker version than you normally find and more to our liking. we liked everything about our meal.

pizza is great! i very much enjoyed it. the only thing is the pizza was drenched in grease. i love really greasy pizza but i caution those concerned about their diet and health.

we finally made it out to the new vito’s location and it is sweet.  the space is massive, with several large dining rooms,  separate bar space, and outside seating, well appointed a change from the previous location.  the family  owned and operated restaurant boasts a long existence in town, dating back to the early 80’s.  on this visit the family was on site, visiting each table, checking on customers,  chef  giulio  made his rounds as well greeting everyone.  nice touch!

delicious. better seafood than the fish camp across the way!fra diavolo with shrimp & scallops is my go to.

loved it! will definitely go back!. this restaurant really impressed me! it's not very big, so it feels very "homey". the service is great, everybody is very nice. our orders came out very quickly, no long wait. the food is amazing! seriously, to die for. we had the pasta sampler and the chicken cacciatore and it was delicious! we really loved this place, it definitely became a favorite. check it out. and when you do, try the sangria!

absolutely the best authentic italian food i have had. real food that tastes and smells wonderful, 5 stars for sure. definitely going back again and again

good food at good prices.  good service.   we go there and many other places on a regular basis.  they have never disappointed.   chicken and sausage dishes are my favorite.

i want to start by saying how shocked i am at some of the poor reviews. i know that when vito's first re-opened at the new location they did have some growing pains but please go back now that chef giulio has his italian village firing on all cylinders! you will not be disappointed.
never a bad time or meal !!!: this is one of those places that no matter what time you go, what you order, or who you are with, you will have a great time with great food and a truly friendly atmosphere. an authentic family owned italian restaurant right here in jacksonville. you would expect to find a place like this in new york, chicago or philly. the staff is fun, helpful and courteous. my favorites are the lobster ravioli, veal chop, osso bucco, chicken/veal/shrimp francese, seafood bada-bing, stuffed portabella mushroom and fried calamari. end your night with some espresso or my favorite... limoncello. giulio, the owner/chef will check on tables him self and make sure everything is just right. most of the workers are family and the bartenders remember your drink and how you like it !!! warning: this place is very addictive !!!

we just had dinner at vito's and it is truly amazing and delicious.  we started with the shrimp bada bing as an appetizer and i had the eggplant which was fresh and tasty.  my friend had the filet merlot and it was cooked to perfection.  we did share a cannoli and it was outstanding.  we enjoyed not only the food but the service was excellent.  the restaurant is beautiful and seems they accomodate large parties.  very family friendly too!!!.  we will be back!

on a recent visit with the family and toddlers we walked over a mat with vito's logo outside that was a mixture of light grey and black dirt from what looked like never being cleaned.

once inside, the hostess brought us to our table. the server quickly came by and took our drink order. in addition we asked to order one kids meal to start for the toddlers to share with the anticipation of ordering another kids meal. the server said we couldn't split the kid's meal. i said ok, we'll order an adult dinner and split it. the waitress said there would be a $5 share charge. bahaha. for a toddler? yeah, because they eat a lot of bread and salad.

so we ended up just ordering 2 kids meals together.

after multiple times at this new location, vitos' inexperienced servers still seem to amaze me.

i think we will stick with the other relatives in town that serve italian food.

very disappointing experience.  the staff is untrained and inept.  the food is average.  don't waste your time or money.  for the price, you could go someplace nice where you could enjoy yourself.  can't say it enough, disappointing!

i am so happy they are back! been going to vito's for 15 years.   all their food is homemade.  the restaurant is beautiful and the service is top notch!  the dessert was really good we had the limoncello cheesecake .

the new location is great! food, atmosphere and staff are all great! had the pollo rosa, lasagna and bolognese. soup was very good as well.

the best !!!. this restaurant was the best in jacksonville.

absolutely horrid. i would pay not to eat here
