virgin courtyard

i went to virgin courtyard with high expectations and was really impressed by the thought process with which the menu has been curated. ordered ricotta ravioli and some mocktails . everything was good in taste. ordered double baked cheese souffle next. i was quite excited to taste it and there i sat eagerly waiting . 20 minutes passed and i thought its just taking time cos souffle has to be made on order and baking will take some time. so its been 45 mins and at last i ask the waiter about my order . after coming back from kitchen the waiter tells me and i quote "abhi 2 min me lagyenge(to bake in the oven), lagwana hai ya nahi" . and being indian we all know what 2 mins actually mean. so basically either the waiter or the chef just forgot my order and instead of being courteous, accept their mistake and apologise, the waiter asks if i want the order or not . i forgot to mention i was quite hungry at that point. so i cancelled the souffle order and was planning to may be order something else and the waiter comes and just clear out the plates. he didnt even ask if he could do that !! now i call my waiter back and ask him if thats the kind of hospitality being offered in virgin courtyard - forgetting orders and not apologising afterwards. guess what ? he said sorry... awwww so cute !!
and then he tried to give the excuse that souffle takes
time to make . imagine a souffle taking more than 45 mins to bake in a restaurant.
we asked for the bill and to save the day the restaurant offered us desserts - lemon tarts . they did manage to save it till i tasted the tart.
so the tarts have to be really stale cos i cant belive they can mess up the tart shell. the crust of tart wasn't buttery and not at all of the texture it supposed to be. it was weirdly doughy and hard. i have made tarts at home.. i mean its not possible to screw the shortcrust pastry. i dont wanna be offensive but whosever is baking those tart shells please check the recipe on youtube !!

how much responsibility a well curated menu can take if its in the hands of virgin courtyard staff.

so its 11 pm and i am sitting in a restaurant and checking nearby restaurants which will be open and browsing their menu so i can eat. i mean if that isnt a failure in food business than what is.

we all mistakes. and its ok . just own it up guys rather than giving silly excuses. apologise and may be offer a fresh dessert while doing the same.

over rated.. over hyped. bullshit coffee. heard so much about the cheese cake but it was toooo smushyyy..

the best place in chandigarh to enjoy quality food. has been around for a long time and definitely here to stay. try anything on their menu. all dishes are 100/100. the effort put in can be felt in every bite.

it was one of the best places i've ever visited.
the food, ambience and drinks all are truly appreciable . one visit is recommeneded for all those who visit chandigarh or are natives of the city.

this place has all my heart.
must visit if you want to have a pleasant time with your loved ones.
i have never seen such an amazing ambiance and food.
i highly recommend this place!!

love the food ! love the ambience , great italian food , one star less only because there is no baby chair in the premises which is very sad ! for a cafe to be a total family experience the kids need to be a priority , management - hope you are listening , please invest in a baby chair !

if you are confused about picking a place for your next date, this is the place to be. they have outdoor as well as indoor seating. the place is really warm with a great ambience, you won't regret going here.

all time favourite!

the customer service we experienced at virgin courtyard has left a lasting impression. they were clearly either understaffed or had a set of highly untrained staff. everything was delayed by at least half an hour. we ordered drinks and spaghetti bolognese. we received our drinks in about 30minutes. waited for another half an hour when we were told that our food was served to someone else. so by then we had been waiting for almost one hour and there was no one who had the courtesy to come and tell us about the order. we left without receiving any food.
a horrible experience.

certainly the experience wasn’t as expected. i’ve been there as a couple and i liked it but yesterday we went there as a group of 20 and the experience was not upto the mark.

food - always good to have italian here (4/5)
mocktails - shitty (1/5). i did not expect it to be that bad.
ambience - 5/5 that was the best part.
service - 0/5. worst service ever in a fine dining restaurant. even after telling the waiters repeatedly to serve the food, they dint serve or somehow served and left it in between.

mocktails which weren’t fizzy were returned but charged in the bill (that was shameless).

in the beginning only, the head server was informed twice that this is pure vegetarian table and nothing non vegetarian should be served. still they served lasagne containing egg. later on the waiter agreed the mistake but again they charged it in the bill. cheapster act !

beautiful interiors and superb ambience. this place serves great italian good . they have their peculiar taste in most of the dishes. though the quantity is less but the quality is out! their pizzas are thin and yum .the coffee is great and love each of their desserts

virgin courtyard is a lovely restaurant that serves authentic italian food. i went there at night and the candle lit tables make a date or family outing seem private and special. the ambience is lovely and the staff are friendly.
to start off with i had a bailey’s chocolate martini which is the perfect combination of chocolate and bailey’s liquor.
they give a complimentary bread, butter and salsa which was home baked and the salsa was freshly prepared.
for main course i had the ricotta ravioli. this was the only downside to the food tonight. i had actually gone to virgin for its ravioli (because virgin and casa bella are the only places that serve ravioli in chandigarh) but it was not good. the taste was too light and the ravioli felt too soft and undercooked.
the it’s greek to me pizza was brilliant. the feta cheese and sundries tomatoes melted in my mouth and the corn was baked into the pizza.
finally for dessert i had tiramisu and creme brûlée and both were absolutely amazing. i highly recommend trying all the desserts on the menu for they were the best parts of the meal.
