pass. edible but uninspired food, and their patio seating is the highlight of their offerings. also, their french fries are limp and greasy.

the wait staff are competent but do not waste your breath asking them to split a check. they politely refused twice to split our check, but then offered and failed to follow through on providing separate totals for our two parties on one check. finally the waitresses admitted that she did not want to write up two checks. (btw-theplacewas not busy at the time so this was not part of the issue.)

we will not return to this forgettable establishment. i would much rather spend my money somewhere that works to earn my business.

great venue, nice neighborhood, open, friendly, social. if you like local brews, this is aplaceto stop. staff is very good and friendly. i had the nitro brown stout; the server was a little slow getting it to me and comped me for it, which he didn't have to do. cheeseburger was prepared nicely medium rare; fries were crispy. no credit cards, but the atm only costs a buck.

groovyplacefor a beer and a bite. we were a bit skeptical when the gps was guiding us through tree-lined suburban streets, but this nice littleplaceappeared on a corner eventually. lots of interesting beers on tap, good food (i had the burger with dates and goat cheese - yum) and yes, awesome service. the staff were literally competing to serve us, even though they pool their tips in good communist tradition :-)

what's missing from your pub?. what's missing from your pub and chain restaurant and fast food joint and clubs and probably most of the restaurants out there?

service.

that's right, service. and i don't mean just "oh the waitress can refill my drink/bring my drinks/check up on me," kind of service either. these guys give a damn about what they're doing.

thisplacehas such an inviting atmosphere, that i felt right at home; like i lived down the block since they opened. when i asked the hostess what i should drink, since i was an out-of-towner, she genuinely put some thought into it.

when i went to the bar to have a drink while we (my friend and i) waited, three different bartenders checked in on us, and took the time to explain their daily beers and their staples. on top of that, i was offered samples. first, getting free samples of beers to hone in on something is fairly unheard of, especially since they sell flights. second, free samples! i definitely enjoyed my beer, knowing that i wasn't missing out on anything; that i had the best beer (inho).

food.

we ordered two appetizers (small fries with cheese...which, is in fact, quite large and shareable) and the hummus. fantastic. i had a brat burger on a pretzel bun and it really fit into their belgium theme they had for the month. it was a little (a lot) messy, but definitely tasted great. i have a picture of it, but it's quite unflattering, so i'm refraining from posting it. they definitely have elevated the barfood game in town, and judging by the number of locals and diners, they're doing it well.

when i visit denver again, this will definitely be a consideration. the only reason it's not a definite, is that there are a ton of places in denver that i haven't tried yet. but it was good enough that i may just buck that trend.

love the microbrews!. i love their beers! the nachos are pretty epic, and nothing beats a junk burger when you want something serious. there's a few vegetarian options on the menu as well, and their specials are always interesting enough to pique my interest.
being an ex-boulderite, i was thrilled when they opened the vine st. pub close to myplacein denver. they bring the same atmosphere as the southern/mountain sun in boulder with the long shared tables (as well as small tables and booths.) this is one of the places we bring folks if they come in from out of town and love microbrews.

my favorite in denver. thisplaceis the perfect mix of burgers and meat entrees and vegetarian/vegan food. their creative daily specials like the tempeh sanwiches and the vegetarian "big mac burrito" are amazing. ive even triedto copy some of them at home. i dont necessarily like the "cash only" policy, but i can deal with it for this restaurant, and i fear they would be even busier if they did take credit cards. they also have a kids eat free on every day except friday which i thought was very cool if you had kids. just recently moved to denver and one of my absolute favorites.
