vina vegan restaurant

first time at vina vegan restaurant and i was not disappointed, as i am avegetariani usually only get 3 or 4 options on a menu but here everything is vegan!

delicious flavours, fresh ingredients + fast service.

vina has a relaxed atmosphere - somewhere you can let you hair down and bring a bottle of wine (byow 🍷).

highly recommend their speciality pancake, recommended by staff.

we tried:-
-fresh rice paper rolls (gf)
-savoury pancake (gf)
-fried rice with seaweed

amazing and affordablevegetarianvietnamese. the vermicelli bun was probably one of the best vermicelli i have had in sydney, meat or no meat. the pho was great and so was the spicy pho. this place has done a very good job at replicating vietnamese dishes using imitation meat. i prefer vina over many of the other vietnamese restaurants in sydney.

if you're looking for deliciousvegetarianfood, then this vietnamese family run restaurant is the place to go to! the portions were large, the staff are so so lovely, they give you a great amount of everything in the dish, the food isn't oily, and the food was so yummy and such good value!
we had the bamboo rice noodle soup with the mock chicken (n5), and the vermicelli with spring rolls with mock chicken nuggets (m6). each dish was only $12. the n5 broth was fantastic- so homely and delicious. both dishes were great. we were savouring literally every mouthful. it tasted even better than it looks.
i am in love with this place and will definitely come back!!

if you likevegetarianfood, vina is freaking fantastic.  don't worry about mediocre reviews, this is great, tasty, wholesome, ethical food, made by nice people who you should support.   

anyone who whinges about vina has their priorities in the wrong place. 

if you want something awesome and fresh but still with a fix of deep fried spring rolls, get the m6.

i love this place. cheap, tasty, no-frillsvegetarianfood. the wontons are soooo delicious!

it was okay.. went with a group of 4 last night. we made the reservation quite early and it was nice to be served rapidly. waiter was knowledgeable and nice.
beingvegetarianmyself it felt great to be able to explore mock meat integrated in a multitude of asian dishes.

one negative aspect was around the fact that everything revolves around dishes with mock meat. i understand that it is the gimmick of that restaurant but in my mind i was hoping to discover some interesting vietnamese dishes with vegetables only. what the restaurant offers is the same kind of dishes you would have in any local asian take away but with mock meat. no imagination when it comes to experimenting withvegetarianfood unlike places like yulli's in surry hills.
definitely a place to take meat eaters to show them what can be done with mock meat but that's it.
i will go back there but not in a hurry...to many other places to check out first.

my new favourite in newtown - everything is delicious, the staff are friendly & kind, the prices are very reasonable for such high quality. subtle, varied and intensely satisfying food, whether you're avegetarianor an omnivore.

much love for vina!. i use to live above this restaurant when it was a regular vietnamese restaurant with mock meat options and i remember the manager telling me they were moving and i was devo then he told me there was a fullvegetarianrestaurant opening in it's place and i am so angry i moved out because this is honestly my favourite restaurant in the whole world. so much love for vina!

everything on the menu is a+! my personal favourite entrée is the mock fish nuggets which is e5 and main is the mock soy potato and pepper pork which is m15b. they are both a must have if you visit! :)

i'd personally recommend that one doesn't dine here thinking that this place will servevegetarianversions of meat or fish, but rather as a place that serves tasty and varied vietnamesevegetarianfare. none of us tried any on the night, but you can also

best asianvegetarianever!. vina's food is delicate, subtle and loaded with taste. there's loads of originality and not just mock meats! roll you own summer rolls with salad, noodles and mint or try the surprisingly tasty sea-weed soup. the main i chose was an utter hit - 'rice with mushroom and sesame' but the dishes description on the menu doesn't do it justice at all... it is a kind of sticky rice with tiny tofu textures and sea weed - not trying to be fish, just plain delicious!

the coconut desert thingie was also freshly made, and to die for!

100% for originality, great, prompt service and not at all overpriced!

a sydney highlight - 'wish i could go there every week for life, or it would be great to learn how the chef does it and be able to prepare strictly vegan food quite so delicately - definitely a 'philosophy!

substantialvegetarianfare. there's quite a bit of variety and flavours served at vina. it's best to go with a small group as the portions are satisfying. try everything on the menu, as long as there aren't any coeliacs in your group. regular carnivores will be surprised.

a vegetarian's heaven. an oasis in newtown: quiet, clean, pleasant and the food is delicious. both meet-style-veggie dishes and morevegetarianlooking ones.

the service is not professional, more like attentive home hospitality. you get a complimentary cup of tea while waiting for a take-away.

hope to see this place take off and become a permanent institution in newtown.
