big disappointment. some of the reviews here state that the food is great. my experience was different. i ordered a serving of tabouli and a gyro/greek salad plate. the tabouli had a bitter taste which is a sign of it being old. it also had a slight chemical taste which is indicative of bottled lemon juice concentrate. i didn't finish it and at $3.95 for a small cup, not a great start. the gyro/greek salad arrived and i immediately realized that the salad was dressed with bottled italian dressing, you know the kind, clear, sweet, weirdly thickened, with little flecks of red in it. kraft? probably generic. this is notgreeksalad. there were a few spinkles of feta, but not a single olive as promised. two slices of cucumber and two little slices of roma. i only ate a couple of bites. the pita bread was good, soft and pliable. the gyro meat was beef (hoping it would have been beef/lamb, as is customary) was typical, not bad, not great. the tzatziki sauce was on the thicker side and was definitely not homemade. it was applied on the meat for me, so i had no control over how much i wanted the sandwich to have. when the waiter (who was nice) was asked about the dressing, he seemed surprised that italian dressing wouldn't be put on agreeksalad, go figure. i mentioned the lack of olives and he offered to go and get me some, but i told him i wasn't going to eat the salad anyway, so let it go. bill: $11.80. i left $13.50. just chalk it up to one of those meals that you feel was pretty much a waste of money. live and learn.

mixed review 2 out of 5 rating. this is the first time i have eaten at villa mediterraean grill. i ordered over the phone for pick up.

i'll start with the website which is cumbersome and overthought. a menu button that when you click opens up a large window would be best rather than a notecard size window that you have to scroll up and down. also when you click on salads or appetizers, it covers up the previous so you must close out thoe to view the next. it's frustrating. the menu is not too large to just put everything on one page.

the food, average to confusing. we ordered the pita and herb feta appetizer, caesar salad, shrimp diavlo and lamb skewers. i wasn't sure what to make of the pita app. 4 pita triangles, a small wedge of feta cheese, a few radish slices, celery and whole stocks of basil? i wasn't sure wht do do with this pile of ill fitting parts so i broke off some feta, basil leaves and a peice of celery into a pita triangle and was still confused. i think some pita, olives, tetziki sauce or herbed olive oil whould have been easier to grasp. the caesar was pretty good but was missing croutons which to me can be a huge part of a successful caesar. points of fresh caesar dressing which so many places don't do which boggles the mind. i had the lamb and the wife had the shrimp. the lamb was rather tough but the vegetables and rice were good. the lamb was well done, would have been more flavorful if cooked to even medium. my wife seemed to like her dinner, 6 shrimp on a bed of pasta with spicy tomato sauce.

i really likegreekfood and was really disappointed villa didn't live up to my hopes. it was $37 for everything but to be honest, tastygreekon beltline/josey does a much better job at a lower price.
