great food. first time and i really enjoyed it. great food,service, and view. recommend!!!

i found this restaurant on urbanspoon and was not disappointed. i dropped by for lunch & had the alaskan halibut & chips. the large juicy chunks of fish were amazing with the homemade tartar sauce. it came with a cocktail sauce as well that made my eyes water. there were many mexican dishes on the lunch menu that sounded good too. i glanced around the dining room and every plate i saw looked amazing. this is definitely a unique high quality place that you should try if you are in the area.

ventana grill is about as good as it gets down there. great view and decent food.

lots of tequilas. lots of tables with windows and sunset views. lots of dishes with peppers, ancho, habanero, jalapeño. not so many choices without. proceed accordingly.

limited menu at lunch but good food. i had the quesadilla - plenty of flavor. my boyfriend had a seafood pasta that he liked. we want to go back at dinner when they have more food options. they could definitely add a few more vegetarian meals.

first of all the location is one of the best of almost any central coast restaurant. atmosphere is great, food in my opinion is slightly above average, the prices definitely include the view. been here many times and would recommend to everyone. service is average and thus my average rating.

we come here at least 3 times a year from fresno with a group of 10 people and love the food and atmosphere. always look forward to the shrimp cocktail appetizer and the stuffed poblano peppers dinner special!!

great local restaurant and bar.
busy the night we visited but staff made us very welcome. sat outside on the deck tucking into a couple of plates of appetisers in drinks whilst enjoying the fantastic view out to sea.
wait staff was friendly and helpful. food was tasty and fresh.
very reasonable pricing especially after spending 5 days in san francisco.
would recommend and certainly go back.

unsatisfying experience - don't waste your time.. went to celebrate my sister's birthday several days ago. we asked for window table, it was a sunday night and not so busy. after waiting 20-30 mins they placed us back in this alcove with terrible acoustics. we had passed by a nearly empty dining room on the way to being seated. we asked if we could possibly have another table in the main dining area. they said we would have to go out and wait again in the waiting area. at that point we were so over it. the manager was summoned and he was as unhelpful as the rest of the staff. the way we were treated, or not treated destroyed our dining experience. we won't eat there again. apparently they are so confident in their restaurant they figure it's not important to listen or try to accommodate their patrons. good luck with that ventana.

on our drive down the coast, our hotel recommended this restaurant. wow!!!! what a great surprise!! it was welcoming and the service was excellent. and the food--super!!! i highly recommend it.

we really enjoyed our dinner at ventana grill. it was our first time eating there. our server was zack, and he was very nice, attentive, and helpful. we ordered way too much food so we took a lot home, which is fine because now i have lunch! the quesadilla appetizer was my favorite! we will definitely be back!

great dinner experience. although i am a frequent visitor to pismo, my wife and i recentley visited the ventana grill for the first time. the atmosphere was elegant and we were pleasantly surprised to discover the acoustic masterpiece of entertainment provided by jon stephens..the service in the bar and dining room (we waited for a dinning room table in the in the bar for approximately 20 min). was excellent. and the food was as good as the entertaiment!!!!! i will reccommend this elegent and reasonably priced restaurant to all my friends and family. the ventana grill will be a mandatory stop every time in pismo. in addtion i cannot emphasize the relaxing and enjoyable entertainment. my wife purchased a cd of the acoustic sounds of jon. i hope to see jon during my next visit (in three weeks) and would encourage the ventana to ensure he becomes part of this classy establishment..

delicious meal...gormet portions and prices, but the view of the ocean was amazing.
