particularly tasty items include fish tacos, sea scallop salad, and tortilla soup. tortillas are made fresh in house, and margaritas are always unblended. reserve a window booth.

wonderful in pismo beach, california. ventana grill's view is awesome. the restaurant is beautifully designed for great views of the pacific ocean. ten of us were seated at a large round table. i think our server just stepped off the cover of gq. he did a fine job and suggested those sharing just ask for an extra plate to avoid the expense of having the kitchen do it. i can recommend the fish and chips. the salads were works of art. lunch at ventana was a joy. i spotted seals and pelicans. the only thing i did not like was the very loud music as i wanted to hear every interesting word spoken at our table. we will return both for the food and the view...perhaps for a sunset!

uh oh!. tonight was a very "off" night awt vg. cold tortillas, non-existent service, almost an hour wait. my salad was not properly dressed and we had to ask for more dressing. the fillet mignon was too rare and the potatoes were cold. i didn't even order my chocolate fondue for dessert. too bad! :)

a new love!. enjoyed dinner so much we returned the next day for tapas and a glass of wine. awesome views, food and service. we loved: the smoked sea scallops salad, nachos, prawns and the chocolate fondue (new fave dessert) and mud pie for dessert. the halibut cevice is also not to miss. i think i could heat here every day! beautiful decor and friendly service. there is also no cork fee here so bring your favorite wine to accompany your meal! :)

great view, mediocre food. the view at sunset can not be beat - made the whole night worthwhile. but don't go to ventana grill thinking you'll be getting high quality food, it simply wasn't. a big plate with a few scallops and prawns in the middle = $24. the 'creamed spinach' was milky-wet and flavorless. the live music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or our friends speaking. wait staff was handsome and hardworking but the food - just very blah.

great meal from appetizers to dessert. we enjoyed our crab topped filet special melt in your mouth goodness. dessert chocolate fondue be sure to try handmade passion fruit marshmellows d'lish!! my husband's not a marshmellow fan but he could have eaten a plateful. service was top notch. it's spendy but worth it. will be back next time in area.

great restaurant! we got there too late for lunch, but got to try their "tapas" menu, which was phenomenal! we each tried a little of something and loved every bite. the food is fresh and the views are as good as it gets. a definite stop location along the pismo beach.

this wa our first time at ventana grill. we loved it. my wife and i shared the huge shrimp cocktail. it was served in a spicy, flavorful sauce that was the besti've tastes. we also shared the fis and chips. the fish was halibut breaded in a pouch that tasted wonderful along with the fries. again, some of the best i've tasted. for dessert i recommend the flan. the restaurant is right on a cliff with the waves breaking on the rocks below. ww got to ventana on a wednesday night at 5 pm when it opened and got a window seat. about 15 minutes later it seemed the restaurant was full. our server knew his menu, the wines and gave us excellent service. ventana is in a beautiful setting with a wide selection of food and drink. ww strongly recommend it for any occasion.
