vaniyé patisserie

vaniye is a beautiful little french pastry shop tucked in the streets of parnell. albeit a bit expensive, i never hesitate paying the amount of money for the quality! owners laurent and sonia are clearly passionate in what they do, and they do it the best way possible. seriously good looking cakes that are made from best ingredients, and they taste wonderful too. they have selections of delicious macarons to choose from; but my favorite is by far their mille feuille, crispy pastry with the most beautiful creme patisserie layered in between.

staff are very helpful and hospitable; there's not much space to accommodate big crowds so expect to take away your cakes on their busy days. i recommend their baguette and croissants to take home aside of yourcakepurchase. vaniye is perfect for a simple afternoon date, or just to buy some cakes as a gift to people and impress them!

i came here hoping to enjoy a coffee and then select a range of cakes to take with me to a friend's place. the coffee was nice, and the interior was ok. the staff member behind the counter was very attentive, and was clearly trying quite hard to help, but didn't have much by the way of recommendations when i asked what was popular. the cakes looked great in the cabinet, but not so great when they were all pilled into a bigcakebox. it would be a really nice option to be able to present these better in nice take away boxes for individual cakes.  the taste of the cakes was great and felt the price was reasonable.

been here a few times and it was always a nice place to have a good chat over nicecakeand coffee. also love the fact it's off from main street and it's quiet with clean and elegant setting.
today was very busy and the coffee came very late. and the flat white was very bad.
cake was pleasing to the eye as well as the taste.

i have organised a work morning tea and viniye delivered us a beautifulcakeand fresh baguette sandwiches in time. we all enjoyed the treat. thank you for preparing in a short notice.

the place is located at a quiet street in parnell. however, the parking was a bit difficult probably due to peak lunch hours.
the atmosphere was great! it's a small cafe but they have everything a good cafe can offer. neat decorations, variety of desserts to choose from and good coffee/ tea to enjoy with too.
the macaroon was very crispy yet soft, its sweetness was perfectly balanced-- sweet but not dead sweet.
the other dessert we had was the coco-mango cake, it's made of coconut and u can totally taste the fresh coconut from the first bite! the blend with mango just made the whole dish topical. felt like i was on an island.
the love affaircakewas like a ferror cake, if you like ferror as i am, you will love this dish!! yet it's not dead sweet chocolate but a mix of dark chocolate which also is my fav.
the madeleine was average, just ordered it coz i haven't tried them before lol.
it's an awesome place to visit!! most people takeaway so the cafe is not too packed and the service was good too, they didn't rush us having our little friday date :)
definitely recommended it for casual afternoon tea!

i was given a giftcard from my dad for vaniye, which you can only use online but the man who was helping me was kind enough to help me use it in store. i got the passionata and my brother got the noah, which i tried a bit of.

passionata (5/5) - tasted like the gateau house mango moussecakewhich i really enjoyed. since the mousse itself was quite tart, the sweetness from the meringue balanced it out.

noah (5/5) - excellent tasting chocolate moussecakethat was a bit tart from the blackberries and crunchy from the base. would get this again as it’s more unique than passionata.

overall, highly recommend as it’s close to where i live and the food is great. however, a bit pricey for the portion size and parking can be quite the hassle.

this was the worst customer service experience i ever had in my life , i did ordercakefor delivery and the delivery fee was $15 , after 30 minutes they just called me to let me know that delivery fee just increased to $35, are you kidding me sonia ?? just for 30 minutes they just increased the delivery fee $20 extra , i can’t understand under which earth they can increase the prices just like that , and she wanted me to pay extra $20
but when i placed the order it was $15 , it it was $35 i wouldn’t place the order , and she was like we can’t do anything, either you pay $35 or cancel the order ,
and the pride of french venice slightly ruined by a woman named sonia (who turned out to be the owner )… . her booming / thunderous voice , with a volume to put a 1980's hairdo to shame , . her lack of insight and bluster impacted what could have been a thoroughly enjoyable experience at venice , go there ,but carefully while you are having piece ofcakeshe will increase the price of the piece ofcakeas well,

i've been to vaniye many times and we always try to order acakefor christmas. vaniye's cakes and desserts are very mousse based, with light and airy sponge or cream. the layers of flavours are amazing and it's not too sweet. i personally prefer this type of cake/dessert than dense, iced cake. they regularly add new flavours so there's always something new to try. 
the fullsize cakes are not that big though and is quite flat (you can see cross sections on their website). and because it's quite light you can easily eat a lot. so considering the price it's not that cheap, but totally worth it!

ive been looking for a goodcakestore for a while and ive finally found it! amazing cake! totally worth the money! will be buying our birthday cakes from vaniye from now on.

tasted absolutely amazing. usually i don't really go for the strawberry flavoured cakes but this one was delicious. the cappuccino one was one of my favourites!
came in another time to try the specialcakethat was actually pistachio flavoured. probably one of the best from their cakes. the strawberry cheesecake had a bit of sour taste to it but was also really good.

this place is really small with limited seating. it's quite expensive for what you get- $40 for a tinycakeand $9 for a slice... the atmosphere is ok but quite crowded. the coffee and desserts are really well presented and the staff are attentive. personally think you can get the same or better for cheaper somewhere else.

the cakes are amazing, worth the price they are little works of art that you really couldn't make yourself at home. we got the grand crucakeand it was amazing - chocolate but not overly sweet and with amazing crunch and layers. we were really impressed by the mini cakes and mille feuille in the cafe and the cakes you can order were to the same standard (easy to get delivered too) - they are a great option for birthdays etc.

amazing chocolate cake! thecakewas made up with mousse. it was extremely creamy and lovely. i have never had that amazing cake. definitely going again

got a tiramisucaketo celebrate a birthday. quite pricy at $40 for a smallcakethat feeds about 4-5 people (cake is smaller than it looks in the photo!) but it was delicious and it's way more classy than the other franchised stores.
