staff is friendly drinks are spot on, pernil pork is overrated and needs salt. chicken empanada was great though.

i wanted the arepa itself to have more flavour, but the stuffing in both were tasty. chicken with honey was one-note, but paired with the green sauce made everything better. pork was fatty and tender. nutella and peanut butter empanada was the most luxurious treat i've had in a long while. dough is tender and it literally burst with gooey filling. service is kind and accommodating.

oh, the green sauce. just drown everything in it; it's so delicious! they also have an impressive cocktail program and a fabulous brunch (be warned, you'll probably have to wait for a table). love that the outside patio is sandy, don't love that it's on a busy street.

our new favorite place!. i don't know why i didn't know about this local spot living in norwalk 13 years now and only 1 1/2 miles from valencia luncheria. this place came up in a conversation recently when i mentioned seeing this place packed solid with people over the summer while getting my coffee across the street at a fast food place. i would drive by and see tons of people sitting outside in the summer eating at tables with umbrellas and wondered what all the hub bub was about. i figured it was some type of deli with lunch service only. well, finally found out from some friends and family members that this place has great venezuelan food that served lunch, breakfast and dinner, sunday brunch and also had a bar. after looking into it further, i see they were on diners, drive-ins and dives on the food network a few years ago for their famous arepas. my husband and i finally went tonight for an early dinner around 4:00 p.m. we parallel parked right out front on the main road (rt. 7, main street). when we walked in, the place was full and busy, the bar area was completely full about 12 or more people directly at the bar, so we were not able to get a seat at the bar. we were seated at a nice little table in the restaurant area where the menu was posted on the wall. drink specials of the day were south american mai tai and also the diplomatic immunity. i tried both. my husband had a dos equis. we were greeted by our waiter josh who was very friendly and told us the specials. we started off with 4 empanadas -- spinach & cheese, 3 cheese, cheeseburger and beef picadillo. wow, were these delicious, the crust on the empanadas were flavorful as is. butter, garlic? not sure, but i am usually not a crust eater when i eat pizza, but i ate the crust edges of the empanadas, they were that good we then had 3 arepas as our main entree which were the chef (chipotle jalapeno cheese steak), domingo (spinach, bacon, onion, queso) and the josie (peanut butter, jelly), along with side orders of rice and yucca fries. we added the "green sauce" as suggested by others and wow, what a flavorful experience. our waiter, josh, was very attentive and informative about the menu and preparations. definitely found our new place to hang. delicious foods and drinks prepared with fresh fruits, what more can you ask for? look forward to our next visit to try the chocolate chili baby back ribs!

gem of a find in norwalk with a lively atmosphere and fabulous, flavorful food! mint mojito was stellar and the guacamole and chips were addicting. perfectly done coconut shrimp and shirt steak. pernil was so tender and flavorful but the portions are overwhelming so prepare for leftovers. even the service was fantastic!!

over all great! i live there arepas and empanadas! cheap and delicious!!! however, the regular dinner menu is not given to you if you come at dinner time. you have to ask for it. i have come into the problem when i needed the dinner menu (i recommend the zach and real deal arepa) but i find it very unprofessional. i understand that it is a casual dining experience but still, come on. despite that it is a great place to go! i recommend it

worth the wait. this was a triple d discovery, and it is very tiny. if you plan on dining, be prepared to wait for a table, but know it is worth the wait. i had the soy and ginger pork arepa with their homemade "green" sauce. the meat was moist and had an excellent seasoning, plus the green sauce was delicious. the black bean and empanada was deliciously cheesy and gooey and the sauce from the beans was very tasty. dessert was an empanada stuffed with nutella and cream cheese. absolutely delicious. don't miss this norwalk gem.
