the burgers were dry. @lucy; i am 60 years old and am perfectly capable of determining whether a burger is moist or dry, thank you very much. i disagree that this establishment has the largest selection of beer in town. please visit mellow mushroom or taco mac to understand.

not for me. we visited today (boxing day) for lunch about 2;00. it was crowded but we were able to grab a couple of seats at the bar. i am not a fan of the barstools being fixed in place, it puts my knees right against the bar which is not very comfortable.

the draft beer list has several very interesting offerings and the couple we had were good and fresh. we passed on apps.

i ordered the southwest green chili cheeseburger (pink, no mustard). it was a bit pink when it arrived but prooved not to be very juicy. it's my guess they are using rather lean premade patties, both bad ideas. the pickled onions added nothing to the burger but a vineragry note.

mrs. bear had the chili burger (pink, no mustard, no onions). it was also pretty dry, strangely enough more so on one side than the other. i only had one bite but was not impressed by the chili.

she had an order of onion rings for a side, they seemed likefoodservice slop to us, both the onions and the gross amount of breading were essentially flavorless. i had the almost pickled beets for a side and they were without a doubt the standout of the meal.

bottom line: $45.00 (with tip) later we had had two unimpressive hamburgers, one very good side, one bad one and two good beers. saturday we had lunch at 212 market for about five bucks more and enjoyed a far better meal.

nice surprise. after visiting the choochoo we started looking for urban stack on foot and we had no idea where it was we only knew that it was close according to the map on my phone (stupid) i ended up taking us in circles trying to find it only to become frustrated and finally asked someone where this place was. we had read great reviews. after we found it we instantly liked where we were at what a great space i wish knoxville had a restaurant that looked as good as this it reminds me of atlanta and detroit, the service was great mike i believe was really excited about thefoodand informative on the menu and how to choose what you want.

my date ordered the turkey burger and she raved about it but was only so so on the fries, i ordered the 4 cheese burger with the american kobe beef, and white cheddar cheese, the burger was great but the beef was overwhelmed by the amount of toppings and special mayonaise. and the potato salad.

the best thing of the night was the orange cream sicle shake wow that is the best shake i have had in some time though it was more like a smoothie.
overall i want to return just to try out the rest of the menu and i certainly will. the experience andfoodwere great and exceded my expectation. i highly reccomend this place for anyone going through chattanooga.

this is a hard review for me because i’m not a “sophisticated” burger guy. i’m more of a handmade big ol beef patty in between buns. i had the one with the mushrooms because everything else on the menu was a little overwhelming for me. it was ok, a little too much on herbs but it was good. this is a hard review because the people and atmosphere were awesome, thefoodwould probably be delicious to a more advanced finer eats foodie but for a local simple man that likes old fashioned burgers, it wasn’t my kind of burger. definitely worth going to see for yourself and try it because the presentation was beautiful and the place as a whole was fun and everyone was incredibly awesome.

the best burger spot in chattanooga. thefoodis delicious, the service is amazing, and the prices are totally reasonable. even on kids eat free night (which is one of the worst nights to be a server, for sure!) we are greeted with a smile. from drinks, to burgers, to kids meals, and healthy options, urban stack is a definite favorite.

a place to get some good clean beef. went a few weeks back on my way out of town. popular place, long wait. be prepared for that. comfy enough atmosphere. tables are spacious. the most dominant thing about thefoodwas that it was all extremely fresh and excellent quality... beef in burgers were so tasty. and the super tart and hot cucumber/pickle sides were intriguing - i could not stop fussing over them - liking them despite myself.

servers very courteous and knowledgeable - and all of them are model-like beautiful - never seen such a cherry-picked staff appearance-wise (just that weird thing that stood out that the servers were all eye-candy). being crowded and waiting for food, not much else to look at and i was not buried in a smartphone.

i need to go back on some slow night (not friday) so i can avoid the crowds. or maybe after the dinner rush. definitely bears more investigation of the menu. recommended.

i thought i'd give urban stack a last chance, and they blew it...again. the medium well burger was rare, service spotty, and it took over an hour to be served when it was only moderately busy. if i had a scruffy beard and wore a hat indoors, perhaps i would have blended better. as it is, this place is barely mediocre and typical of the "new chattanooga" sponsored by the foundation of the week:

urban stack offers one of the most unique style/combinations i've ever seen. the bottom line is that political correctness has now hit both burger joints and whiskey bars, and combined, urban stack is the result. because it's brand new, i make allowances for service, but they did pretty well with knowledge of the menu and accuracy of the order. the variety of burgers ranges from the merely different to absolutely weird, and they're not excited about making "your way". in fact, it's all about "their way", but i talked them into what i wanted. i upgraded from angus beef to the angus chuck/angus brisket blend. yes, i said upgrade the meat. tasty yes, worth an extra 3.00...no. so here's the summary - service is pretty good. presentation is definitely not what you'd expect, which isn't bad. value is terrible though, and frankly thefoodhangs around fair. but this is great for a post 5 meeting place. it looks a hell of a lot better than it tastes, much like its sister place - taco mamacitos

overall excellent. the service was great, we were told we'd have to wait about ten or fifteen minutes, and only ended up waiting about three. waiter was extremely kind and checked on us several times to ensure we were satisfied. the atmosphere was lovely, and thefoodwas amazing! vegan options in restaurants tend to be bland and tasteless, as if they were just a sad attempt at making a "regular" dish vegan. the vegan shroom burger was fantastic though. i only wish they had more vegan options. i was also very impressed with their status as being "green" and leed certified.

follow up. i went to urban stack a few days ago and was very pleased with my visit. we were told it would be a 30-35 minute wait and it was actually about 15. it's always been a fun spot with a great atmosphere, but this time i got something other than a burger. i ordered the dirty bird chicken sandwich. it was a delicious, huge piece of fried chicken topped with melted cheddar and served with a side of honey hot sauce. the chicken was fried to perfection and the honey hot sauce was outstanding. i am very pleased to have found something outside a burger at urban stack because it's a great place to visit and although i was disappointed in their burgers on my previous trips, now i'll have a reason to go back more often.

great spot, better burgers exist. like i have said about the other spots the owners have, urban stack is a great atmosphere and concept, but thefoodis very average. the bun is actually the star of the show, one of the best i have ever had, but the meat and toppings lack flavor in a big way. like taco mamacita, there will be a wait no matter what time of day you go which is the theme of these owners restaurants. i won't say don't go to urban stack, but i would not expect a ton of flavor from your burger but it will look awesome and there is an impressive selection to choose from. go get the gouda burger at tremont tavern....now that's worth a wait!

ehh.. i've been to urban stack twice now, my visits several months apart. i love taco mama and have been pleasantly surprised with community pie, but the third of the monen's establishments just doesn't do it for me. there are good aspects, sure: the atmosphere is really neat (though loud), the management is obviously a part of the team effort (something i always appreciate), and the whiskey menu is impressive if that's your thing. for me, though, the burgers are just lacking. i've now tried the jive turkey and the mushroom melt - both were fine, neither impressive. oddly enough, as another reviewer commented, the sweet potato fries may be the best item on the menu. the first time i went, service was excellent. this last time, it was definitely lacking. i'm a server myself, so i'm both extremely observant and incredibly understanding of the many things that can go wrong on any given night. the restaurant was decently crowded when we were there, and i could see our server taking care of at least one other table. other servers were certainly pitching in with running food, etc. our server was nice enough, but.... awkward, for lack of a better term. he might have been new, or else really forgetful. i'm hoping he is just new. the beer i ordered was never brought, despite seeing him make multiple trips around our section. i finally had to discretely ask, as myfoodwas delivered, if it was still on the way. he seemed completely clueless and had to make two more trips to ask both what it was and which size i wanted. *cringe*. i wasn't particularly annoyed that he forgot my beer (although i'm sure others would be), more so just felt really awkward about having to ask when he clearly forgot - despite writing it down. when ourfoodarrived, it was 'auctioned off.' again, not a huge deal, but we were only a table of 5 and he personally delivered thefood(with another runner). i would like to think he'd remember who had what. one entree was missing, was brought out about 2 minutes later by a manager, and was wrong. very wrong. burger-instead-of-lettuce-wrap-wrong. cringe again. all in all i enjoyed my experience because of my company, but my so-so burger and one pint of beer weren't worth the $16 i spent after tip. i don't think i'll be back.

i rank this #7 in chattanooga. i compliment the owner for the re-hab of that old building , it looks great, the decor and lighting are right on, servers are good too. this seems to be a mm theme, pretty the place up and get the hip young yuppies there and things will take care of themselves. i did not like thefoodat all, it was very bland, no seasoning at all ? ( it that wasn't like any benton bacon i have ever eaten either ) all 4 of us were excited about getting some time off for lunch that day and wow we all wished we had gone to merv's for a burger instead. these concepts of his since sticky's all are good bars that also have food, and im sure his product mix is higher in the booze side here and at the taco mamacita place too. good neidlove's bun, great fresh cut fries cooked the way i like them blanched and then fired ... burger was small in size and didn't look good, it looked like a formed and frozen krabby patty about 4 to 5 ounces most;ly lean muscle and little fat i'm guessing a 75/25 blend . call me old fashioned, bit give me a 80/20 chuck blend, with fries and a drink for under $10 come on , does your clients really want a local cow that bad, and please hand patti your burgers and stop using that egg ring they look frozen not fresh. i can get a flavorful angus burger with the same niedlove's bun, same fries, with a drink @ farm to fork in ringgold,ga for under $9 it was over $15 here. wanna a great burger in chattanooga try these places you wont be sorry.
