what luck to find a cajun place...even better is that uncle mick's really knows how to cook it!

authentic cajun food and great service. staff makes you feel like family. great place to eat....be sure to try the bread pudding!

great people and food!. found this place on urban spoon and we had to be in prattville, so we stopped by. what a great place! clean, down-home, great owner and service, and outstanding food! they will let you sample any entre or side before ordering. i had the crawfish etouffee and loved it! my wife had the crab meat au gratin. when the owner wandered around asking about the food, i gushed over mine, but my wife was not enjoying hers. it was not bad, just not her favorite, and she was honest with the owner. he asked her what she wanted (another entree) and brought over a full serving of the grilled tilapia with lemon butter sauce--excellent as well. we just went to new orleans last month, and this cajun food was better--and much cheaper--than what we had down there. an entree and two sides under $10. highly recommended!!

my new favorite place!. i went there with my fiance (who doesn't really like cajun food) and absoulutly loved it. we were very please with the service and the way he allowed us to taste the food before ordering. the food had just enough spice for her and plenty of hot sauce for me. i would highly recommend this cafe every day!

needs to have t-shirts. we went there in search of a t-shirt b/c my brother's name is also micky. we did eat there and were pleasantly surprised. great flavor and service. uncle mick is a very pleasant host. uncle mick, you need to get t-shirts and hats!!!!

fantastic!. having just moved to east montgomery, we decided to drive to pratville to try uncle mick's for 2 reasons: 1. we seriously love cajun/creole food (and this is the only place in the area), and 2. the reviews here on urban spoon were outstanding. thanks to all of the other reviewers who helped us find our new favorite restaurant. the food is amazing - authentic cajun/creole with just the right amount of spice. the owner - yes...there is an uncle mick...is incredibly friendly and loves to show off his food. he welcomes anyone to sample before ordering. everything we tried and ordered was incredible. i had the crawfish etouffee (most entrees come over rice) with black eyed peas and deviled eggs as sides. my husband had the chicken and sausage piquante with maque choux and green beans. we split a piece of homemade caramel cake for dessert, although i'm not sure where we found room. total cost for 2 plates (1 entree and 2 sides per plate), 2 teas, and cake was $24 and change. although one reviewer thought this was pricey, having just moved from the washington d.c. area after a quick stint in central florida, we found this incredibly reasonable given the quality and portion size. we will be making the half hour drive to prattville often just for uncle mick's!

uncle mick's is a hidden gem in the greater montgomery area. the staff is friendly and, as newcomers, we got to get a taste of some of the meals. i ended up with the alligator piquante. tender, spicy and ever so delicious. highly recommended!

awesome in every way (except maybe the dead animal heads). my poor little girl thinks the stuffed animal heads all over the walls are just a bit too much.

but alas... the owner is insanely friendly and let us try everything. i think he did this because he knows how good it all is!! we have loved every last dish was have tried and bring all our out of town guests here. just walking in the place smells divine. i dare you to go, taste, and walk out without buying yourself a meal. i bet you can't.

the only thing i cannot figure out is the tiny little slivers of layer cake they serve. not that i have ever had room left for layered cake, but seriously, they are so tiny it is comical.

perhaps my favorite restaurant in montgomery metro.

every town should have one! you can taste the soul in the food, and tell it's straight out if south louisiana. it's not too spicy, but it has a good kick. i love it!

great!!!!. while staying in montgomery my husband and i stumbled upon uncle mick's...probably one of our greatest restaurant finds. food excellent, authentic...service incredible, friendly. we will drive back to prattville just to eat at uncle mick's.

love it? why?. who does it help to say you love it? nobody knows who you are! get detailed with your review. compare it to some other cajun place you've been- talk about the dishes you were served and how it was prepared- talk about the service, the atmosphere, something! make me want to eat at this place or make me never want to come near it- otherwise your review is pointless.

yummy!!!!! :). micks is the best restaurant to come to prattville ever, the atomosphere is great, the food is out of this world, everything is delicious and they urge you to taste before you order, very friendly team running this. you will not be disappointed! my favorite place!

fantastic!. this is the real deal! real cajun food, made by some real cajun dudes. if you're new to cajun grub, the nice man behind the counter will offer you samples of the dishes before you order. (never tried alligator? now's your chance!) we tried almost everything, and it was all delicious! i think the chicken and sausage sauce piquante is my favorite...
