tutta bella has consistently good service and pizza and we eat here usually once a month. they serve thincrustneapolitan pizza which is cooked in 60-90 seconds so it comes out very fast. they also have a nice selection of salads and good minestrone soup. they also have good gelato. it is a fun place to take kids!

delish neighborhood pizza. tutta bella is a great neighborhood spot in wallingford where you can find couples, families, and larger groups. it is always packed, but luckily they have a lot of seating so most of the time you don't need to wait too long. the pizza are thincrust- always ask for extra sauce for dipping. my personal dish suggestions are to try the misto pizza and make room for tiramisu. it is a perfect mid-week pizza break!

steve and i were reading an online article about the most yummy snacks and food in world. we saw that neapolitan pizza was on the list and realized we never had it before. regular standard pizza, yes but not a neapolitan one. we looked around to see if the seattle area had such a place and indeed it did. tutta bella!
we got the margherita pizza which was fantastic! thecrustwas delicate and crisp and the sauce on the pizza was wonderful! i can see why neapolitan pizzas were on that list!
service was friendly and prompt! looking forward to more of their fantastic pizza!

noisy, mediocre, expensive. did i mention noisy?. i know people who rave about this place. frankly, it makes me take their other recommendations less seriously.

bluntly, the tile floors, huge windows and masses of kids running around make this place a nightmare for conversation--or sanity. even when it's not filled with families, it's still loud. (btw, i love kids. but not when they're in restaurants and allowed to run around & yell as if they're at a playground.)

generally, the food is over-priced and mediocre. (okay, the beet salad is really good.) i don't like thecrustor the sauce and, while i'm not a fan of pizza weighed down with 'stuff', these toppings are too minimal. (i should add i've given them three chances. this wasn't written based on an off-night.)

so, let's see: loud, expensive, mediocre food. even though it's only four blocks away, i'll always go somewhere else--or stay home.

not worth the drive.. wallingford is a drive for me, but i like nothing more than to find a new place to have a slice of wood fire pie. we ordered a small, which worked as a snack at best. the prices are pretty high and thecrustis not my favorite, but the quality of the toppings is outstanding. the service was not too bad either. if i lived nearby, i would probably eat here again, but not going all the way to wallingford for this.

all concept, mediocre to bad pizza. okay, i love thincrustpizza. however, thincrustpizza should never be so limp and soggy that when one tries to pick up a slice to put it on a plate thecrustjust simply falls apart from the "weight" of too meager toppings.

that's just bad pizza. since it happened twice nw, it seems that's the way it's (under) cooked there.

all i can say is, folks in wallingford must be desperate for high priced neighborhood pizza, no matter how bad, to be hyping this place.

great for people with babies/kids. good food.
atmosphere resembles kinder garden on most evening, so it 's a great place for people with kids because it's not super quiet. usually there is a great service; one waiter spilled a little bit of wine on my black jacket and right away a manager came and gave a card for free dry cleaning. we didn't use the service, but it's a nice touch. we go to this place regularly. pizzacrustis good and has authentic italian taste. good salads too.

incredible pizza. this is by far the best pizza you will ever eat. being lactose intolerant i thought pizza was lost to me forever…until i found tutta bella! they have great service, good wine parings and amazing pizza! the pizzas are thincrustso you can eat one alone if you're really hungry! but with a salad or appetizers they're great to share! i get the same one every time, marinera napoletana, and i add chicken and arugula! after dinner if you have room enjoy an espresso and a cup of refreshing gelato from their fresh gelato case!

unless you have time to visit naples, this is as close as you're getting.. and frankly, i don't recommend visiting naples. it's a dirty hellhole. sorrento is more worth your time. but that's hardly the point i'm making here. tutta bella brings a sunny slice of italy to pasty white seattle. the average seattle-ite may well view pagliacci as authentic italian pizza, despite its being firmly rooted in brooklyn, and those hailing from lacey will most likely be surprised to find out pizza in italy is not similar to pizza hut. hopefully these misconceptions will change with the advent of such god-sends as tutta bella.

having spent time and lire/euros in florence, rome, naples, salerno, sorrento, and pisa sampling pizza, i should know authoritatively what a good italian-style pizza is, and by god, i do. such a pizza should have a smokycrustthinner than thin, but punctuated with massive air bubbles that rise above even the cheese. the cheese should be full-flavored and rich tasting but never too heavily applied. the sauce must, absolutely must, be a minimalist concoction seemingly defying the laws of culinary physics with how much complexity it packs into so few ingredients, but with appropriate off-the-vine freshness coming through clearly. the toppings must complement and enhance but always defer to the base flavors of the pizza, and by jupiter, they must never include pepperoni. the entire package should have the depth of flavor only a wood oven can bring.

tutta bella lives up to each of these requirements and sometimes even exceeds them. all the basic mechanics of a good pizza are present, and the toppings available range from simple ricotta to prosciutto, various fresh vegetables and mushrooms. no pepperoni to be found. while the more loaded pizzas can be a fun diversion once in a while, a simple margherita - with only cheese, sauce, and basil onboard - is usually the best choice, akin to savoring a fine steak without the distraction of fussy sauces.

because the pizzas are so light of construction, an entire pie is easily within the abilities of even a modest eater, and should leave room for the tiramisu. i am an expert on tiramisu almost to the extent that i am of pizza, and the tiramisu here is nigh-perfect. the essence of rum is there without the unpleasant alcoholic taste, allowing the silky mascarpone and coffee to be the stars. this is yet another good reason to order a simple margherita.

the price of such splendor includes long waits and whining children. while it's all well and good that parents are exposing their spawn to real food, sometimes it would be nice if those parents would just schlep their little monsters to chuck e cheese where at least their screaming would be drowned out by skee-ball. some may balk at these annoyances, however doing so is a mistake. the food is just too good, too real to pass up for reasons of background noise. besides, you'd have to deal with this noise and more in naples.
