solid good italian food cooked by the italian/kiwi owner. well priced and nice atmosphere. service is usually good and i go away feeling like i've been to italy.

this little italian restaurant is one of those rare places that is very quaint and unassuming from the street but it packs a major punch when delivering dish after dish of some of the most beautiful italian food i have ever had!! if you are in a hurry and don't enjoy the company of your table then don't come here it's not fast food, it is hand made deliciousness meant to be enjoyed and savoured. worth every penny and every minute waiting (although we had three courses in less then 1 hour) compliments to the chef, the service staff and the owners a true masterpiece - bellissimo

excellent food, really friendly attentive service and great ambience.  we had a party of four and we all loved our meals, superb italian cuisine. great wine list too. highly recommended!

fantastic wine and food. as a traveler that has spent significant time in italy, it was wonderful. highly recommend the lamb! and the wine specials.

fantastic meal, and the best italian food i have eaten since i was last in italy! excellent wine list. shared the anti pasta platter, then ate squid ink gnocchi with calamari, finished with creme brûlée and it was all fabulous! attentive and helpful service.

great customer service, our table of 6 was well taken care of, even our 19 month old son was given special attention. our order was taken in a timely manor and the food didn't take long to arrive. very nice food also.

i took my elderly motherinlaw to napier for her birthday.  we wanted a special meal somewhere not too formal but not that casual either.  
 it is not easy to find a restaurant which suits her needs. not too much light but enough to see menus, not too hot or cold, not too noisy and somewhere where the staff are friendly but not obtrusive and most off all, somewhere where they don't mind changing dishes on the menu to suit ( motherinlaw can't eat mushrooms or onions). laura our waitress was friendly without being over the top and suggested several things on the menu which could be adjusted.  enjoyable night out.

came here on our first night in napier. we were looking around the town centre until this little place struck me, which reminded me of the restaurants i've been in italy!

the entrées were great, and mains were amazing especially the eye fillet!

wonderful service from the waitresses and the owner himself. will definitely return!

my wife and i tried this place for the first time and were not disappointed. the food was excellent, and the staff were warm friendly and attentive. only thing i found a little odd was the bill had a space to add a tip and it was circled as if they were expecting one. a little odd in new zealand culture especially as we had multiple people serving our food so not sure who we would be tipping. also as the prices were quite high, not sure a tip was necessary. the service was great though.

first visit to this place a few years ago was a real highlight and we have had it marked for a return trip ever since. finally made it back and once again it delivered. the antipasto platter, ravioli in sage butter, fish of the day, chicken marsala, veal scallopine, classic crème caramel and profiteroles were all excellent. a bottle of soave and a bottle of chianti classico riserva, both were very good matches. the service was friendly, efficient and at times entertaining, in the nicest possible way. if you like this style of eatery i reckon you won't find a better one in nz. if you have been to italy as i have, you will not be disappointed. looking forward to the next time.

honest to goodness italian cuisine! had a fantastic meal and evening at this little jem! the owner is clearly very passionate and enthused with his new business. the young man serving us was very charming and the food was incredible! very well done. will be seeing you again soon

excellent service and lovely food. the restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere and it was great to see families with young children enjoying their meals. it is quite expensive but is well worth it for a special occasion.

i went there for some good italian food and was disappointed with my meal. the owner (i am assuming) was not that friendly and i rather expected that friendliness and food should go together. i shall not be returning and there was nothing amazing about their food! think i will have to go back to sorrento's l' antica trattoria for that sheer dining pleasure i am after!

impromptu late night meal when we arrived in napier. loved the meal and the staff were very professional and friendly. only very very minor complaint would be more gnocchi options but only 'cos i love gnocchi (in saying that my scallops/asparagus/mushroom risotto was great!). partner had seafood fettuccine which had a good variety of seafood and was def. enjoyed.
