great food!. my boyfriend and i went there on a sunday to have a few beers and eat some lunch. i had the raspberry brew, which was awesome, and he had his usual missouri brown. we've eaten there several times. they have a sausage platter that is great, but my favorite there is the lobster bisque soup. a little spicy, but very satisfying. this particular sunday, we ordered the onion rings. they were delightful! the best onion rings i've had, they were huge!! and served with a jalepeno ranch sauce, which was a wonderful touch. i've never been disappointed in trailhead's fare, the service, or the atmosphere.

don't do it!. i know it's not a five star restaurant, but i at least expect staff to be cordial to the customers. the food has always been okay, but service there is terrible. after last night's poor and surly service, i just can't do it anymore.

eh...was just ok. i had the five alarm hot beef sandwich. wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything special. my wife had the bbq sandwich. wouldn’t recommend. we ordered the soft pretzel as an appetizer. they were very good but priced same as our sandwich’s. we tried three of their beers the fruit smoothie ipa, pale stout and the dark brown ale. the fruit smoothie ipa was pretty good. the dark brown was by far our favorite. steer clear of the pale stout. ambience of the place was awesome. really cool brewery and building.

amazing. this is bar far my favorite resturant in town. the crap/artichoke dip is to die for. great beer too! always a fun atmosphere. and an awesome happy hour!

gross, service stunk etc. the staff was stand offish, like we were unbathed for a month or something. i suppose i could have bathed maybe 5 mins before i walked out of the house but i figured an hour was sufficient. lol felt real stuffy in there as well.

we've been here several times and mostly had really good food. the service has not always been the best, but some servers are excellent. the layout and lots of stairs makes it very difficult for anyone who has leg/foot issues, which i do. overall it's good food usually eclipsing the sometimes mediocre service.

refused to fill  my stainless steel growler because it was not a "trailhead" growler. really? too many choices out there for you to be that self-righteous.

two exhausted eclipse watchers who had started at 4am in nashville ended up here for a light dinner after a very long day. hadn't been in st charles in 25 years so it was great to see this lovely town again. we were going to the restaurant next door to eat outside but they were closed so on to trailhead! we started off with the raspberry beer that certainly hit the spot. it was happy hour with half price appetizers and pizza so we began to graze. the boiled shrimp was fresh and a good size. next was the sausage and pepperoni pizza. loved that sausage. we would have tackled the shrimp stuffed jalapeños next but alas, we were stuffed ourselves. service was decent with a friendly server. bathrooms were clean. the reason i deducted a point was that my seat which was half of a booth, was in desperate need of spring repair. there were many appealing menu selections so i will try to make it back before the next 25 years go by.

beer is always good but the food is always bad! wish at some point they would figure things out!?!?!?!

we were presented a rather extensive menu and a list of available brews. i started with the missouri brown ale to have with food. i prefer darker beer over the light stuff - actually have very little liking for anything very acidic like a wies or pilsner so i tend to gravitate towards the stouts and use ipas with bitter hops as my version of a light beer. the missouri brown ale was actually a bit disappointing to me - usually browns have a bit of sweetness that i didn't find here. i'm sure plenty will like it though.

good but overall not the best around. the beer is good, atmosphere nice, location great but the food was mostly average. i would come back but it won't be a place i'm dying to return to. unless you are already in downtown st charles, try schlafly brewpub or bottleworks instead.

better options. i have given trailhead several chances over many years and it is always mediocre. the location and establishment itself is top-notch but everything else falls short of impressive. the beer is watered down and the food is bland. too many options in downtown st. chuck to settle for this place.

cold turd sandwiches served by neanderthals. appetizer was cold (bad), salad was cold (good), side was cold (bad), filet was hot (yummy). the first beer was correct and cold (good) the second beer was late, wrong and cold (bad).
i realized that the waitress was also serving her boyfriend and was content to spend time on not me. the ac pipes dripped on me. it was one bad thing after another and for a brewery you would think people would order less bud lights but almost every table around me was drinking bud.
what does that say.........

delicious and happy with beer!. we went on a friday in april and it was busy but we waited about thirty minutes and got enjoyed our table by the open windows. my husband enjoyed trying the sampler of beer and it was extremely reasonably priced. i had a burger and he had nachos. the nachos were delicious and i ate more off his plate then mine. i recommend the onion rings for an appetizer.

good beer. the beer is the reason to go here. all their beer is good, but the stout is my favorite. the food is better than bar food, kind of like an average restaurant food quality. they mainly have appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, and salads. if you go late at night, around 10 or 11, the appetizers are half price. this is one of my friend's favorite restaurant. he gets the pretzel burger or wings every time. another friend loves their chicken pizza. i like their hummus, chicken fingers, and salads.
