spread too thin. after having eaten at the towercafefour times now, i am surprised to see such glowing reviews. while it is fun to go to a place decorated with such international flair, a large and varied menu, and always bustling, it all seems to come at the cost of the quality of the food and speed of service.
i've had something from each section of the menu, and each time my food was mediocre at best, and i've had the same dish, far superior, at another sacramento restaurant.
in the mood for a good thai curry? there are two places next door to one another just a block away on the same street, not to mention thai basil on j.
want some caribbean flair? go to celestine's on k.
the portabella toscana sandwich looked good, but it was much better at pronto on 16th and p.
so take the extra time to narrow down what you're actually in the mood for and go to a place that serves it, that way when you order that kind of food, it'll be good.
