when we arrived on freemont street, walked down the street until we found binions. which is a casino, deli, hotel, restaurant and i'm sure a few other things. being an olderplacewe had a bit of trouble navigating the building. quite a bit actually. after 20 minutes of taking the wrong elevator or following the signs to the old location we made it up to the top. as we walked in i could tell it was worth the effort. surrounded by windows with a view of all of freemont street and the rest of vegas as well. the old school charm and a view like that is all you need.once we sat down our waiter ran us through the menu and explained everything. definitely an older style menu but i'd already eaten at several places on the strip. we traded flatbreads for baked oysters and ahi tuna for lobster bisque. this was exactly what i was looking for. started off with oysters rockefeller, came out quick and were packed with flavor. then we had a 10oz new york and a stuffed portabella ravioli. both were done to perfection. i have zero complaints about the food. the ravioli was surprisingly enough nearly as good as the steak. swimming in a creamy pesto sauce and packed full of mushrooms.the décor inside is similar to the menu, old school and as long as you're in the mood to enjoy a meal with some real old time charm, i cant think of a betterplaceto go, if you're hoping for glitz and glamour stay on the strip.overall it was a great experience, food was good, wine went perfect with everything and the views are as good as it gets.  just make sure to get better directions.

disappointment. i was on a girls trip to vegas w/ 5 girlfriends. we decided to spend saturday evening on freemont street, and we wanted to have a nice dinner before taking it all in. we made reservations for 8:00 and headed downtown.

the one good thing about thisplaceis the view. it is really great. but sadly, that's it! the service was appalling. we had to flag down our waiter after our water glasses had been empty for an extended period of time. and because we were a party of 6, a gratuity of 18% was already going to be added to our bill. one of my friends can't eat dairy, and when she asked our waiter if the bread contained any dairy, his response was, "i don't think so. i'm not really sure. but they do have flour in them." okay?

after an hour, our food finally came out. i ordered the small filet ($39) and asked that it be cooked medium rare. i knew it was a bad sign when i practically had to saw it apart. it was cooked medium well at best, and there was no way i was sending it back after waiting almost an hour for our food already.

i truly do not mind paying top dollar for a nice meal. this was our last night in vegas, and we were all utterly disappointed in our experience at top of binion's. i had one cocktail, a salad and the filet and paid $57 before tax/tip. i can't even say this meal was "average". i'd give thisplace1.5 stars out of 5.

worse than lowered expectations. thisplacewill help anyone to loose weight as most of the food is sooo repulsively poor quality. only the poor quality service might save you if you leave inirratation as i saw a number of people do. theplaceshould be closed for fraud to say that they have a chef as he couldn't be a short order cook at a greasey spoon dump.
