friendly service and yummy home cooked food. the best homemade biscuits i've ever eaten ever! love love this place and would eat there again for sure!!!

yum!!. the food at tommy's is always good and you get a ton of food for practically nothing! there's usually a long line but the wait tends to go fast! the breakfast and lunch menu are available all day and they have great gyros. i highly recommend this restraunt!

really long wait (outside in the heat), but once we were seated, all of our food came in less than 10 minutes. the breakfast was awesome and incredibly cheap and the service was friendly!

another great breakfast!. stopped by tommy's this morning for breakfast. it was delicious. i had fried eggs over medium, they were cooked to perfection. smoked sausage that was juicy and tasty, home fries that were dynamite, and of course their sugnature buttered toast. everything was hot and tasty. great coffee, rich and hot. the service as always was down home and fantastic. lots of smiles and blazing fast on coffee warm ups. i dont care if they take cash only i will walk 10 miles to find an atm just to eat there. but thats not neccesary as they have an atm at the entrance. here i sthe deal. if you havent eaten at tommy's yes, then your missing out on a true hampton roads icon. go eat smile! great job tommy's!

an institution. tommy's is a great all american greasy spoon, turn and burn diner. they do a great job, and aren't tryingt o be anyone else but what they are. you gotta respect that. awesome american breakfast and lunch fair. i have eaten there so many times i've lost count and have never been disatisfied with my meal. omelettes, blt's, burgers, chicken fried steak, etc etc. american down home country goodness. so if your dieting ro trying to eat healthy, you may wanna skip tommy's this week. but if your looking for a great place to have a warm breakfast or lunch with a froend or a colleague, this the perfect little place. be warned they do not take credit cards or check cards, this i think is a mistake in this day and age. i think they made this decision long ago when transactions fees were alot higher, they should revisit that. i think they would see a pleasant response from thier clientel. but again its not like they are hurting for business. tommy's is packed everyday from opening to closing. thats because their service and food is awesome! nice job tommy's

a must try!. i was up in hampton today with my father-in-law and found out about tommy's online. they had gotten such good reviews that we decided to try it, and o boy it was worth the wait!! we got their around 11 and there was already a line to the door but i was glad we stuck it out. we waited maybe 15 minutes and got a seat. they were slammed but our hostess took our drink orders right away and by the time she had the drink to us our waitress was taking our order:) great staff and fun atmosphere. and very good prices! my father-in-law got a pork sandwich that was on special for $5 and it came with fries. i got the salmon cake breakfast that came with two salmon cakes, eggs, hash potatoes and toast! huge and delish! we also had two drinks and our total bill was less than $20!! by the time we left around 12pm the line was well out of the door! so worth it! we said that any time we are out in hampton again this is where we will be! a got to try for everyone!

kingston is a cute little town, but honestly there's not much to do, especially on a snowy weekend. mona and i recently went to visit alexa for a weekend and, in the absen ce of activities, w e ended up eating all the time! i swear, t here was not a moment during those two days that i felt hungry! we started the day at tommy's, a 24-h our retro-style diner for a delicious greasy breakfast ! every university is in need of a place like this! mona's g uinness pulled pork omelette ($8.99) , served with toast and home fries. alexa's breakfast quesadilla ( $7.99)

fantastic! the omelet is great,the french toast delicious and salmon cake breakfast is too much for a human (other than a instruction worker) to consume. but many do. the salmon cakes can be fried or grilled. i prefer grilled. but what i really prefer is their fish and chips special that's under $5. good - and delish! and the servers (for the most part) are friendly.

favorite restaurant in kingston!. i first went to tommy's with a group of friends last spring for a late night dinner. at 930pm we were delighted to find out that we could get breakfast, lunch and dinner. we were even more delighted to find out that every night after 9 they have $3 cocktails and beer and shooters! of the 7 of us that went for dinner 3 of us had burgers. they had an entire burger menu so we all tried something different. we all agreed that tommy's 1/2lb home made burger is the best in town. i got one called the nypd blue, which had pulled pork, bacon, ham and blue cheese on top, delicious! our late dinner ended up being a full night at tommy's, enjoying beverages, board games and foose ball. our server was great, always made sure we had full drinks and was enjoyable to chat with......and very pretty. later in the evening the owner started his bartending shift, a couple of us made our way to the bar to introduce ourselves and have some shots. really friendly guy, not much old than myself and immediately makes everyone feel like a friend in his home. since then i've been back to tommy's at least once a week and i try and to have something different off their menu each time, never been disappointed. highlights: burgers, tall stacked club, best fish and chips and best breakfast in town. wing night wednesday, i would never miss it!

terrible food and service. a friend and i had supper at tommy's diner a while back and it was, simply put, awful. my friend had chicken wings. he said they tasted no better than frozen ones from a box and his fries were stone cold, as was the accompanying gravy. i ordered a club sandwich. the turkey on the sandwich was a one inch layer of thick sliced cheap variety deli turkey. yuk. i asked the server if i could have something else...i decided to go with a western sandwich...i mean, how can you ruin a western? well, apparently you can. the toast was stale and dry, the egg was minimal and overcooked. then, when we got our bill i was charged for the first meal. i complained to the server about this, to which he replied that the kitchen manager said customers have to pay for their meal, even if they don't like it. are you kidding me? i am spreading the word...this restaurant is terrible.

good food. if you're looking for that tasty unhealthy breakfast diner experience, this is it. food is good but you know your arteries are clogging just reading the menu. there can be a huge wait, but the service is fast. one downside, cash only :(

i have been going to tommy's for about 8 years now and have always had a good experience. but today was horrible!! we were at our table by 1:10pm & are now we are just leaving and its 2:15. the service and quality of food today changed how i feel about this place. rae was our server, she wasn't the blame gor our food but.... she definitely could have cared a little that things were not right. all she did was keep apologizing instead of being proactive and really tackling our food issues.im just so upset about this. i dont think i will be back.

for students, student atmosphere with very loud singing waiter who never stops talking and wants a lot of attention. it's ok, been a few times. one time no coleslaw, next time they didn't have wings. otherwise food is pretty good, no debit!
