tomatoes a rotten. i have heard so many people praise this place. finally decided to try it and what a disappointment. the first person at the counter was very pleasant and offered my family menus since it was our first time. then another lady rudely blurts out "what are we doing, are we eating in or what's going on" as we all have menus right in front of us. we then order and within 10 minutes our food is ready....that part great. we got back to livonia and discovered they gave us a large pizza completely burnt around the edges and most of the pepperoni burnt as well. if your ordering garlic bread beware.....you'll need a mouth full of mints the rest of the night. i thought $27 for a pepperoni pizza and some garlic bread was a little steep but given the "praise" it must be worth it....wrong. so disgusted i recommended his to my family. burnt and rude doesn't get you return customers!

this is my favorite place to eat lunch in the area. i love their flat bread pizzas that they make in their giant brick oven. some of there pizzas are the traditional ones you'd expect, like pepperoni or sausage. but others like their garlic, cheese, and basil pizzas are to die for. they also have a nutella pizza pie, and a great salad bar. they include all of this for all you can eat for less than $11 currently. they also have beer and wine. the soft drinks (which are limited to only a few choices) are also included in the buffet. unfortunately the buffet is only during the week for lunch.

we have been customers of this location for 2 years and recently when you order a naples pizza which is a combination of the different pizzas they put single slices together and jam them so they are all smashed together apparently they clean out the buffet of the single slices and give them to customers as  1 pizza i am calling to complain in the am  thank you

nothing special. after hearing so many wonderful reviews on this restaurant, i have tmsay i am most disappointed. we went to the lunch buffet and most of the pizzas were burnt around the edges. crust is so thin and crunchy it is more like a cracker than dough. toppings skimpy. i make better pizza at home. little caesars $5 pizzas beat this with their sauce and doughy crusts. i wouldn't go back here.

the reviewers that berate tomatoes are mundane midwestern folk who have grown up on a very processed fluffy and terribly deformed version of what pizza was/is and should be... my parents are new yorkers and raised me to be true pizza snob... thus part of tomatoes charm is its slight grittiness, whether its the burnt edges or frank service, that's about as true to buying a new york slice as can be. to understand good pizza you have to appreciate its simplicity and that is how you know it is good , when excess toppings and perfectly baked processed pies don't have to take place because the rustic-ness is enough to pleasure the palate... that is when you know you have reached pizza nirvana.

delicious. i came with some co-workers for the buffet at lunch. i couldn't believe how much we got for our money. there was so much variety. i can't even decide which is my favorite pizza though i think it's the crab. the owner was very nice and lindsay is so amazing!

i wish there was a "i like it, but" button because the cheese bread was decent, and the service was good but humorless. the pizza was burned on the edges on two of the pies, and the pizza was runny as a result of the onions. i love the halstead apizza and would recommend it to anyone who loves thin crust pizza with quality ingredients. 14 mile lacks halstead's passion for great pies!
