a hidden gem along glebe point road, tom yum tum gang is a no-frills restaurant popular for whipping up some glorious classic thai dishes . their humongous plate ofpadthai prawn (accompanied with a 50cm pair of chopsticks) uses fresh king prawns, fried bean curd and bean sprouts. a special request for a spicier version will reward you with a plate of full of wok hei or stir-fried flavour which resembles those street hawkers in bangkok. in other words, theirpadthai is probably the best in sydney.

the fried chicken wings are not bad either. crispy on the outside and tender and succulent on the inside. they can probably improve it by marinating them a little longer!

a no frills, local thai eatery conveniently located on glebe point road, which is almost always packed full of people! we visited around 6:30 pm on a monday night and were lucky to snag the last available table for two.

today, we ordered a green curry with chicken + rice and apadse ew also with chicken. the food came out lightning fast and piping hot! there are lots of staff working here, which seems to be the reason why they are so efficient with taking and preparing orders for both eat in and takeaway.

thepadse ew was delicious with a nice soy flavour, and not too sweet. it came with lots of mixed vegetables, chicken and egg which was all cooked well. the green curry was definitely not the best i've ever had, with quite a thin consistency, however, it had a great flavour (not very spicy at all) and also came with a generous amount of chicken and mixed vegetables.

overall, a cheap and cheerful meal which came to about $22 total. definitely a new go-to, local restaurant!

had the lunch special, so meals were discounted from the standard menu. my veggiepadthai was $8.50, the seafood lad nah was $11(chinese brocolli with gravy) and curry puffs were$2 each. the place is always packed and is great value for money. all dishes were cooked really well and very generous. for example, the seafood dish included salmon, mussels, prawns and squid! recommend :)

i’m satisfied with the food tastes and prices. i’d recommend thepadthai/the fried rice it’s best for take away since the place is always so busy.

when i first came to sydney i made it a goal to try as many thai restaurants as possible. after months of trying place after place i still find myself always craving tom yum over any other place. i seriously have hadpadthai from everywhere and this place is tops. always packed with people for a reason. the prices are great and portion sizes are generous. don't be like me and try 50 different thai places looking for the perfect one. go straight to tom yum.

one of my fave thai places to go to in sydney. tom yum tum gang is a great place to eat with family and friends. the lunch hour on weekdays is tops too! $8 a meal excluding seafood :)

we had thepadthai and jungle curry this time around. everything is yum. tom yum tum gang uses the freshest produce. i'm a fan of broccoli, mushroom and capsicum!

fast pace, great service. really good food at affordable prices. friendly staff.

i remember when these guys split from thai on wok years ago. it was great value then and it still is today. when she said $10 i thought i'd heard wrong. its no wonder it's packed - cheap and great tasting food.
i went with old faithful, padsee ew, with beef tonight.
so good. really fresh vegetables, tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles and the flavours are balanced just right - not too sweet, which this dish often is, nice salted soy and the side of chilli sauce gave it the perfect kick.
really quick service, and good vibe.
and i've never seen a napkin holder like that in my life! it's an optical illusion, napkins in a drink?

ordered chickenpadthai for takeaway. tasted beatiful. the lime twist brought on a tangy taste which was a very nice finish. picking up the food was a bit of a difficulty considering the restaurant was particularly packed and tables were positioned closely together such that movement was challenging. other than that, i would definitely recommend this place for thai food.

favourite thai place in sydney, wins in all aspects, taste, service and price!
chickenpadsee ew is my choice, comparing to several highly rated thai spots around, this is king. it's all about flavour for me and this hits the spot, not too saucey and not too dry.
great looking place, kitchen is literally behind the counter which i think is really cool and the thai women running around keeping everyone happy makes a great atmosphere.
been here 100 times and will be back 500 more.

this is pretty average to poor thai food. got a vegetarianpadthai and it was almost flavourless, not fresh at all, and not authentic. you don't expect such poor thai food in australia nowadays so this was really disappointing
