party or pair. i've been here several times for different events. once with my wife as just a date night. the food was amazing. she was put off a bit by not being offered silverware, but got over it as we both laughed at our chopstick use. the second time was with my boss and some co-workers at the hibachi. we ordered some great sushi and had fun with the cook as he did his art. good food at a great price for what you get. definitely recommend.

don't listen to gaygaygay, this place has quality sushi and service. it's a quiet tucked away place that offers a great dining experience.

for years we’ve been coming to tokyo cafe. so often that the employees knew my teenage daughter since she was a toddler. after her dance recital last night we decided to stop by for a fun, celebratory dinner. needless to say we had quite the opposite experience.

our hibachi chef was blatantly rude to us. i’m also assuming he’s the owner because he’d always been present near the host stand during every one of our previous visits.

when he verified our order i told him that my daughter had ordered something different than what he had down. he gave us this horrible look that made me want to crawl back into my shell and then stormed off to the kitchen to grab the alternate ingredient.

he did not put on a hibachi show. he just merely cooked the food which, by the way, was very bland so i asked for some sauce. he gave me that look again, poured the sauce and slammed it in front of me. the two customers next to us also asked for extra sauce in which he replied “no problem, one moment.”

our waitress was not very attentive, but since the hibachi chef was so rude we almost didn’t care.

once our food was finished cooking we boxed our food in a hurry and left. when we got in the car my daughter brought up the chef’s attitude and asked me why i did not do something about it. i told her i was just trying to make sure we had a nice, fun dinner together. she replied that he already had ruined that for her.

we will not be returning to tokyo cafe.

delicious, good portions, and reasonably priced! i definitely will return. only complaints: the service was mediocre and the crab stick wasn't great.

only been a couple of times so far and have not tried the hibachi yet. so far a solid a-ok with hopes for more to come.

wednesday night dinner with the boys and not many folks around at 8 or so. a family at hibachi and a couple in the bar area for sushi.

big pluses are ramune is in the house and three styles of japanese beer. they have cocktails but i get the feeling they donor focus on it here as much.

another big plus is they are one of a few with the grilled whole squid on sizzling platter but it is more costly here than most at $10. most of the time i get it for $7 or $8....that is usually out of town since not many carry it locally.

tempura app was hot and tasty with batter thicker than the light batter at ichiban. not my fave but it will do.

sushi is serviceable and service was attentive. tofu age was a new experience and tasty with a large portion for $4.

next time we want to try the hibachi so stay tuned.

atmosphere is middle of the road here too which is squarely where i place them overall for now.

horrible service. there service has gone down we have been there twice in the past 3weeks once with a party of 17 and then again with a party of 8. with the party of 17 half receive their soup and salad when they were supposed to and the other half didn't receive it till after received a meal and we ask for it. never did they just come and refill drinks our glasses were always empty. both times we went the cook we received didn't put in a good show very dull and didn't understand hardly anything we said we won't be giving them a third try

great - no compliants!. i tried this place (upon the recommendation of my son & daughter-in-law) despite the bad reviews i'd seen. we (a party of three) went on a sunday for lunch, we arrived about 11:30 am & was seated immediately. we only had to wait for about 15 minutes for the chef to come to our table. i was very happy with the place! the sushi was great & tasted fresh. the hibachi was excellent, the chef did a great job & our waiter was outstanding. i was very pleased with the amount of food we got for the money. i'm not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, but we were extremely pleased.

sushi fail. the sushi here is abysmal. their specialty "pink lady roll" - which is supposed to contain crawfish and crab - looked like some wet bandages had been stuck to day old rice and around minced white cardboard. there was no crawfish to be found, only fake crabmeat slathered in mayo. gross. the waitress was unable to provide us with any information as to the prices of any of the rolls on the menu and so we were surprised when the bill came and the pink lady rang in at $17. the waitress was also unfamiliar with any of the fish on the sushi menu and asked us to describe them to her. all this, after waiting about 45 minutes to eat in an uncrowded restaurant. we ended up here because we were starving and the wait at ichiban was over an hour. my advice - take the wait unless you want a stomach full of regret and yesterday's chum.
