tonight it took a while for staff to notice we were ready to order but once ordered the food came quickly and hot!

the tables are directly next to each other so you are intimate with strangers and privvy to their conversations.

it's also asushiplace so you do have that tug between restaurant and takeaway.

best best best eversushiin wellington. since my friend introduced katsu and udon to me a while ago. i eat here about twice a week, more if i can. i have told so many people about this place. because i love the fresh food, the fact that you can eat 'cafeteria style' and each person pays for their own food, so there's no nasty bill surprises at the end. great for when you're in a group and on a budget. i also find that i can eat untilsushicomes out of my ears for less than the price of a glass of wine at other restaurants.

i highly recommend this place if you want fresh, quality, affordable food.

one tiny little vice i do have though, staff aren't that friendly, considering i'm a regular here. however, guess you can understand that, seeing they are soooo busy making delicious food, who has time to be friendly, right?

extremely disappointed with the service i received today. i went in at 1.30 this afternoon looking to purchase the carrot avocadosushifor my son. there was only one piece left in the window so i asked if there was any more in the containers just behind. when i was told there was only the single piece left, i asked if i could get some made. the female employee said no, to which i responded by saying if i could get it made i would buy two rolls , not just a few pieces. she then told me if i really wanted it... she could maybe make it in 2 hours! i couldn't believe she told me 2 hours! i could have understood had she told me the chef was in a break or anything similar, but only to be told no and maybe 2 hours, i am very disappointed. i walked out. my 19month old son really enjoys yoursushiwhich is why i have been a regular loyal customer for a long time. after the service i received today, i'm really in no hurry to return.

the food is good and thesushiis a very quick and easy lunch option. if you are choosing to dine in the food is also tasty but there is very limited atmosphere

tj is ok if you like overpriced mayo cakedsushiand bentos, chinese or korean made japanese food ,salty katsu and hard rice. japanese food for kiwis who have no clue about japanese food. unfortunately wellington isn't blessed with real japanese restaurants. otherwise avoid.

despite the place being pretty packed we got our meals quickly - i ordered the teriyaki tofu bento box, which although tasty, wasn’t very filling for the price. there was a lot of choice from the menu andsushishelves, and i enjoyed the music and decorations.

this is the worstsushii have ever eaten.  the 'hot' food was room temperature, there was a bone in my husbands salmon which he nearly choked on and mysushitasted as though it had been sitting there for a week. we told the staff we were disappointed in the quality and they couldn't care less.  avoid at all costs.

i have both dined in with hot meals and had take awaysushiat tj katsu several times.
the noodle and rice dishes taste really good. the katsu chicken is always well cooked and has a really good flavour. i like that they give you a complimentary and delicious miso soup with every dine-in cooked meal.
the service is always really good and i like the art on the walls.
highly recommended.

one of the best japanese restaurants in wellington cbd. there was a huge variety ofsushiand the ones i ordered was rolled well and tasted yum.

the rice dish “spicy chicken don” was not too spicy and had the flavour of spices/sauce they used. i’m saying because most spicy dishes would just feel like tasting chilli or chilli sauce. however, this dish was amazing and would definitely visit for lunch again next time i’m in town :) this is a place i could recommend for sure :)

on the 2nd of june, i ordered you chicken sushi, as it was my first time orderingsushifrom your shop i was highly disappointed, when i came home feeling nauseous. today i have been hospitalized due to food poisoning. i spoke to the manager but he disagreed with me saying that it could not have been hissushithat made me sick. this however is false because i had not eaten anything else that day. i felt a lack of concern on his part and feel disappointed in your lack of customer service and lack of good hygiene standards.

the setup of the restaurant is confusing, with their self servesushisection at the beginning of the shop and the restaurant dining at the back, therefore my friend and i were queued and confused, people were pushing ahead of us before we could speak to the staff and thus we were standing unattended to for about 5 minutes, would have been nice to have had a staff member approach and direct us as is the norm at restaurants. however, my first impressions were quickly shifted, the service was phenomenally aware and attentive, the food came out very fast. and boy, was that an incredible meal! it was so so so delicious, cannot wait to eat there again. also it was very filling, neither of us were able to finish our meals, which was unexpected considering the affordable price. i really greatly appreciated the vegan key, that is a rare feature of restaurants and it saves a lot of effort on my part.

busy lunchtime spot. pretty good selection on offer. all the standardsushivariants are here. prices are clearly marked and reasonable.

i sat in with two colleagues. i ordered a mix of 5 pieces. thesushiis good, especially the octopus balls. i thoroughly enjoyed those. had them in other places and they've been slimy, but not theses. very tasty.

the only thing that wasn't the best was the wasabi. they offer the sachets. i don't like the wasabi from these as much. it's not a show stopper for me, but a preference.

overall, enjoyable sushi. will visit again.
