attended my fiances work event at this wonderful restaurant. the catered meal far exceeded my expectations of quality usually placed on such events. the shrimp ceviche was simple but amongst the best i have ever tasted and the salmon was cooked to perfection. the entire meal was a set a very high standard for latino comfort food.

it's ok. for philadelphia tierra colombiana is acceptable. i don't think in new york or new jersey anyone would get overly excited over this restaurant as there are so many. this place is just basic colombian cuisine, and that's ok.

also, i took a friend here who is a native colombian. he wasn't thrilled with the neighborhood. yes, there are people from outside the us, even from poor countries, who are amazed by our american urban decay.

don't be scurried!!!. i know you may have heard negative things about the neighborhood....but no need to fear. just b/c you see people of color don't mean you need to be alarmed...we don't bite.
but the food here definitely does!
yes, the food here is a philly's kept secret...at least when it comes to latin flare.
by far the best paella i have had in philly.
large generous portions...def a guy place on that.
well cooked latin seafood dishes...and the steak enciebollado is pretty good too.
the decor and atmosphere will make you forget you in north philly.
good mojitos...and a dance club is upstairs, so if you feeling bold after your meal...go upstairs and get your salsa on.
note- call them to find out what night they have salsa lesson nite.

do not go to this place!!!

while at work i placed a phone order for pick-up from tierra colombiana. when i got to the location to pay and pick-up my order the price was eyebrow-rasingly higher than on their website. when i asked about the price, they told me it was due to taxes. i told them the price was still high, and asked how much were the taxes? it was then i was told they charge $1.00 for a take-out fee!!! this establishment is cheating people!!! i told them where to "shove the order," and left. i am telling all of my co-workers as well as anyone else who will listen, this business cheats customers and stay away. i hope tierra colombiana goes out of business!!!!!!!!!!!

food is great! large plates! tasty! affordable!

family / kid friendly.

we dined here for my birthday but my party was very overdressed for the ambience of the establishment.

tables were a bit too close.

we parked across the street in the rite aide parking lot. everyone did it seemed.

the surrounding area is not too desirable. i wouldn’t be taking an evening stroll after dinner.

there’s dancing upstairs- nice touch.

bad experience. after going there on a sat. evening a couple weeks ago, i enjoyed the food and atmospher, and talked about my experience, the red snapper, and the delicous garlic sauce to everyone i knew, and came in contact with. so i decided to go there today sunday, 10/26/14, to celebrate my birthday, along with my wife, mother-in-law, son and daughter, and my god mother. we had a 3:00 reservation, by 5:00, we hadn't had our entree. we did not feel welcome, the waitress, and staff was not friendly. it took a long time to get our drinks, and appetizers. we notice other that arrived after us being served, and some were leaving. when arriving i know some looks from staff members when we first arrived, but did not let it bother me, due my first encounter. we actually had to get up and leave, and no one even notice with a party of six.

excellent!. we drove it philly from delaware to get a good meal! we were not disappointed! the food was very good and the service was wonderful.

i recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good cuban/caribbean food.

love the bread they bring out yum ! utterly delicious. service leaves a lot to be desired,but i think it is just the laid back 'no rush' caribbean attitude. don't go here if you are in a rush. ambiance is distinctly casual. had the shrimp in spicy creole sauce, was excellent

yum!. the food at tierra colombiana is amazing! not to mention the lively atmosphere and polite waiters/waitresses there. the quality of the food is tops and i couldn't possibly complain about the quantity. teirra colombiana is definitely my go to place whenever i want exceptionally good food =)

my favorite restaurant. the food is incredible. every dish that i've tried i was over the moon about it. i like to get the picada appetizer. the meat is grilled perfectly and it's a great sampling. really fantastic place.

horrible service. the food is fantastic but the service with the waitress/waiters is horrible. had dinner on 02/04/2012 & had dinner served & they didn't bring the drinks and added it on the check had to get it canceled at the end of the dinner got the "water". should hire competent servers for a busy place.

ms dankers. i went to the 5th street restaurant....let me tell you this is the first time i can really say i have enjoyed my food, the presentation, the taste, the atmosphere, get my 5 star rating ...i had the stuff chicken wow everyone at our table were all just wow,,,our compliments to the chef

the food was excellent although it did take a long time for them to bring out our orders. prices were right too. comparing the quality of the colombian food to the best authentic colombian restaurants in new york city (queens of course), this one holds it's own.
