tick tock diner

bad service, mediocre food. we went here a few months ago and were let down. i do have to say that their nachos are out of this world, and i would go back for that alone, however the service was awful, thewaitresstook our drinks order then never came back, we had to flag here down to first get the drinks we had ordered, and then again to place our entree orders, someone else came out from the kitchen and gave us our food, and we never saw ourwaitressagain for the hour we were there. if anyone here is thinking of getting the french dip, don't do it, it had the texture and flavor of a wet rag.

slow service and foreign item in food. i've been here several times as a kid & brought my husband recently after he saw it on the food network. first, they were quite busy and thewaitresswas a mess. we never received water until we asked, twice she brought us another table's order and it took a very long time to receive our items. i asked for a salad without carrots because i am severely allergic. my salad came with carrots. i sent it back. she brought another and after a few bites i started to feel a reaction and saw there were a few carrot slivers in the salad. not a big deal to most, but important to me because even a tiny sliver causes a reaction. then, i notice a large 1"x2" piece of plastic bag mixed in my salad. needless to say, i sent it back. the rest of my food was decent, but my coffee mug had a sticky handle from who knows what & the pecan pie was the worst i've ever tasted. overall, it was average.

went for dinner. looks likewaitresswas new. ordered chicken parmesan and she forgot the pasta. then after i asked, she brought plain spaghetti... no sauce! it was dry! and they even skimped out on the tomato sauce on the chicken. service really went downhill since i last came here in december. was thinking of going for breakfast but not sure now....

although i was snap happy at tick tock, the only good things we ordered were the fried items. because, really, it's pretty hard to mess up fries and calamari. the roast beef was dry, the chicken was dry, and the burger was not only un-photogenic, it was also... dry. thewaitressalso poured us refills of hot tea, when our original order was coffee.

sweet. i guess going to this diner is a crap shot...and you're hoping to get snake eyes.

praise buddha my experience last weekend was a good one.

a night after out partying with the fam, 8 of us decided to hit up this place, as it was closest to are most inebriated member.

place was packed (they gotta be doing something right, no?) at 4am'ish.
we were seated immediately.waitresswas prompt & nice.

took our order (menu contains your typical diner stuff). got our order right (we got everything from pancakes to a veggie burger to chicken fingers & disco fries)...and guess what? all our food was beyond decent. their coffee is actually really good.

prices seemed decent.

it's a little bit out of my way, but based on this past experience- i'd definitely hit it up again.
