thirsty fellow

been here three times. twice thanks to hurricane matthew and just recently returning from the east coast. best meatball sub ever and will drive out of my way to return again! service matched the food and customer service was over the top as they courteously returned my credit card expeditiously after i foolishly departed without it! because of matthew i'll be rooting for the gamecocks this weekend and wishing i were at thirsty fellow to cheer them on! bad weather can bringgoodmemories and new friends!!

the service isgoodand the food is great. i always enjoy myself here. also while it's more of an upscale sports bar, their pizza is one of the best in columbia.

great place. this is a great place. everything i've ordered here is great. i usually end up here late night when the menu is limited to pizza, which is good. it's agoodvibe and not just for the college crowd.

the place is very relaxing and accommodating. the staff friendly and helpful. the pizza is very good, but i would rank it third behind the pizza joint, and the village idiot. i do recommend it forgoodfood and agoodtime.

the food wasgoodbut service wasn't the best. the staff were very impersonal and aloof. my biggest complaint is their lack of changing tables in the restrooms. if you're a parent of a young child, beware! i mean, why have high chairs but no changing tables? we will not be going back for awhile.

thought this was a college bar so stayed away. we needed a place to meet our son and his friend on a sunday afternoon and remembered seeing this place a couple of weeks ago while at the jdrf walk. i live and work on the se side of town and had regarded this as a place for college kids and while there were a couple of them here, they also had agoodmix of all ages. the place was clean, had multiple wide screen tvs, and our server nick was attentive and knew the menu. we all ate typical pub grub, drank beer/wine, and finished off with cheese cake. no one food stood out except to say that it was allgoodenough to earn a second visit. i'm glad we gave this place a try.

i really love this place! great food. perfect place for a business lunch, and the specials served after four are amazing. great food,goodatmosphere and outside seating with fans and tvs. (there are tvs everywhere!) try the pizza, stuffed peppers, fries, and salads! and the chicken sandwich is the best in town!

i heart the fellow!. went here 2x when visiting columbia, sc. full of law students, locals, and people of all ages. the walls are lined with books and there are many flat screens with sports programs playing. the breakfast menu was awesome (omlette and grits) and the dinner food was plentiful (chicken carolina sandwich was yummy). the staff is attentive, refills sodas, checks on drinks, and keeps the place humming nicely. the bathrooms were clean as can be! the whole place is a chill spot for some beers, wine, food, and friendship. perfect for pals, dates, or even families. the food is yummy and the prices are average.goodportions. a true local spot for insiders. :)

this restaurant was so incredible. i've never had better service in columbia. it was so freakin fast. our waiter, josh, was incredibly attentive and we were in and out in 30 minutes. the food was crazygoodand our waiter was able to answer all the questions we had about the menu. overall, an awesome experience, great food, perfect service, and excellent ambiance.

we’ll definitely go back to thirsty fellow for many more beers and pizzas. it is similar to the flying saucer with its great porch, delicious and not your everyday greasy bar food,goodbeer selection and great-place-to-meet-with-friends atmosphere. i can see husband and myself riding our bicycles here (to catch a braves game?!) once i get over my fear of biking across the blossom street bridge.

this is a nice sports pub, very clean and modern. the owner takes great pride in this place. full bar andgoodbeer selection. food is above average for a pub. lots of hd big screen tvs. cons: the service. hostess was a rude teenager (why the he'll does a bar have a hostess anyhow?), bartender seemed lazy and disinterested, and the whole staff seemed to have a bad attitude and seemed like they didn't want to be there. other than the staff, it's a great place to meet friends for drinks and pub food and catch a game.

excellent brunch. had sunday brunch there recently. the menu is very well-balanced with an equal amount of non-egg items and things you wouldn't find at other local brunch places. i had the french toast bake, which was very original in the way it was prepared. it came with some very fresh fruit and i added a side of bacon that was very crispy. my girlfriend had an omelet that was huge and also just as good. i also ordered a side of banana nut bread, that came with some type of flavored banana cream cheese that i wanted seconds of.

they have a full bar on sundays and served mimosa, bellinis, and bloody marys. the mimosas were around $5 and came with a complimentary refill, although we declined when we noticed someone else's lipstick on the glass. other than that it was a very enjoyable brunch. service was extremelygoodand i'd be happy to go back. my meal ended up being around $20 a person with tip.
