thirsty fellow

if it was the last place on earth. i would not return to the thirsty fellow again for any amount of money. horribly rude staff and while waiting to be seated had opportunity to watch 'kitchen' at work. the only reason they are still in business must be their location at the usc campus. take your money elsewhere, you should easily find another establishment that understands how to treat a customer!! they seem to not care........

awesome. expected the pizza and dogs to be good. didnt expect the french dip & meatball subs to also be awesome. the bread is also fantastic. wide selection of beer - i did not try. coupled with its great location before or after a game and i'd say carolinas got a winner here.
try it before the prices go up

this is a nice sports pub, very clean and modern. the owner takes great pride in this place. full bar and good beer selection. food is above average for a pub. lots of hd big screen tvs. cons: the service. hostess was a rude teenager (why the he'll does a bar have a hostess anyhow?), bartender seemed lazy and disinterested, and the whole staff seemed to have a bad attitude and seemed like they didn't want to be there. other than the staff, it's a great place to meet friends for drinks and pub food and catch a game.

excellent brunch. had sunday brunch there recently. the menu is very well-balanced with an equal amount of non-egg items and things you wouldn't find at other local brunch places. i had the french toast bake, which was very original in the way it was prepared. it came with some very fresh fruit and i added a side of bacon that was very crispy. my girlfriend had an omelet that was huge and also just as good. i also ordered a side of banana nut bread, that came with some type of flavored banana cream cheese that i wanted seconds of.

they have a full bar on sundays and served mimosa, bellinis, and bloody marys. the mimosas were around $5 and came with a complimentary refill, although we declined when we noticed someone else's lipstick on the glass. other than that it was a very enjoyable brunch. service was extremely good and i'd be happy to go back. my meal ended up being around $20 a person with tip.

good addition to columbia. my friends and i checked out this place for a business lunch yesterday. though the music was a weird choice for a bar/restaurant that appears to be aimed at those older than college-aged (the music was bubblegum pop and light country -- taylor swift, for example), we liked the decor and atmosphere. our first impression was that it felt a little like flying saucer inside but with a more interesting menu. the extensive beer list made my friends want to come back to check out happy hour.

our server was attentive and friendly. i had the pear salad with grilled shrimp, a cup of soup, and an iced tea, and my bill was around $18 before tip . the food was very good, but not sure the pricing is where it needs to be to draw a consistent lunch crowd. if i go again, i'll pick less pricey items. my friends had a burger and a grilled cheese and deemed them to be "fine." the homemade chips (which come with the sandwiches and burgers) got much better reviews.

the pizza choices looked really interesting (gourmet items a la carte), so that might be the way to go if i can talk my friends into sharing and eating something interesting (grilled eggplant, goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, truffle oil, etc.).

i think this place has serious promise and adds something different to the area, but i got the feeling that it's still defining itself and figuring out how it fits into the columbia food and bar scene. i'll give it a shot again in another week or two.

new and worth it.. always looking for something new to do or try, tried this place about 3 weeks ago.... awesome stuffed banana pepper (but get ready for the heat to kick in). nice atmosphere, great location if headed to the colonial life colesium and baseball games.... have a brew and bolt.
