theyellowchilly restaurant | planet mall | siliguri

one thing that i would recommend if you ask me anytime at this restaurant is cheese chilly chicken tikka (first pic). we had it as a starter and i literally got that foodgasm feeling.

i loved the tomato cheese naan. and none of the other food we had was a disappointment.

talking about the ambiance. there's a family restaurant and a bar. we checked both of them and chose the bar as the family restaurant was too much family style😅. the bar had much of a youngster feel.

and not to forget. the complimentary paan that you get after your meal was love. you can find it in the third pic. it's nicely wrapped. it's more of a chota packet bara dhamaka😉. cute little paan was so tasty that we ended up asking for a second one aswell😂😂

extremely disappointed with shaam savera main course dish. i had expected a lot from sanjeev kapoor's branded restaurant but the food was not worth eating. the koftas were excessively soft because of which it mixed with the gravy, making the dish all-watery. the gravy was highly oily (with too much oil floating on top) and too "heavy" to eat.

in compariaon to similar dishes from punjabi kadhai or royal sartaj, this dish fromyellowchilli was 1/10.

theyellowchilli is one of the best food serving restaurants in siliguri. the ambience is decent and the service is pretty good. they have an amazing variety and preparation of the non-vegetarian dishes. my top picks at theyellowchilli are: tandoori platter, warqi naan, dhaniya masala paneer, tawa pulao and chilli chicken. they also have some very different mocktails which are refreshing and so well presented! it's the best place for a family lunch/dinner or even if you're booking their banquet for a private party!

the place was very family friendly, good ambiance. the food was commendable, really really good indian food. i tried sham savera (they explained that it was sanjeev kapoor’s first dish) and it was really good, spinach balls with cottage cheese filling, lovely. then there was this perfectly cooked lamb chops. my favourite vegetable spring roll, was made with spinach and cheese. the presentation was remarkable. there was this multi grain naan that really caught my attention, really healthy concept, it tasted really good. the desert was paan flavoured and i enjoyed paan for the first time in my life there. the best outlet for indian cuisine in siliguri will definitely beyellowchilli.

starting with the ambience, it has a pretty ambience withyellowlightings and comfortable sofa.
the hospitality was super. staffs were polite and humble and always had a smiling face.
coming to food, there were great varities doing justice to the different tastes we aspire. we ordered shaam savera which was a mix of spinach and paneer, where spinach being the shaam and paneer is savera. the presentation was really good and the taste was on a sweeter side but it was lip smacking. the pyaaji veggie was also palatable and spicy. the red daal was also good. for breads, we had garlic naan and tandoori roti which were also good.
they serve complimentary papad soon after we give our orders and at the end, they serve meetha paan as a freshner which you probably don't find in any other restaurants.
overall, its highly recommended.

this restaurant surely deserves a 5 rating. what an excellent dining experience. these guys are truly doing justice to the "sanjeev kapoor" brand. last night i visited this restaurant with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. service was excellent, ambience very good, food excellent. we had ordered the following:

1. shabnam ke moti: one of their trademark dishes. stuffed button mushroom baked with two types of cheese. a must have dish.

2. lallamussa dal: excellent lentil preparation, very similar to 'dal bukhara'. this dal is supposedly cooked for a long time which gives it such buttery consistency. goes very well with all types of bread.

3. butter naan: this was good too. it was thinner than what you get in other restaurants.

4. veg makhmali: wonderful preparation of finely chopped veggies cooked in thick gravy. a little on the sweeter side, this dish too had cheese in it.

5. murg hara pyaz: 7 to 8 boneless pieces of chicken in thickyellowgravy. again goes wonderfully well with naan.

6. veg fried rice: again lovely preparation, full of veggies, paneer, good quality long grained rice enough for two people.

a special mention must go for the extra condiments that comes without asking, which is so important for a complete indian meal. pickled onions, sweet papaya chutney, mixed pickle along with freshly-cut onions, green chillies, lemon slices and another two types of chutnies - green coriander and sweet tamarind chutney were served. papads were served during the waiting time. at the end of the meal paan was served. also the wait staff was very knowledgeable and guided us with what to choose from the menu.

if i have to mention one point which can be improved on, i would suggest that they can lower the volume of the bollywood numbers that was playing. also, i feel that soft instrumental music goes better with a fine dining ambience.but barring this minor point, although a little heavy on the pocket, this restaurant really serves quality experience.
