if you find the time, stop at the wild olive for a wonderful meal. the chefs here are doing a great job; this won't be a hidden gem for long... it was about now that i realize i didn't have awinelist. they don't actually offer wine, but you're welcome to bring in a bottle if you like. next time, we'll have to pregame this.

good food and quaint atmosphere. my significant other and i often dine at the wild olive in crestview, which means at least once or twice weekly and we are continually surprised by occasional negative hit and run comments about this exquisite dining experience. in fact, if the wild olive were in atlanta, birmingham, or miami those same make-believe food critics would be raving about the ambience, the food preparation and presentation and attentive wait staff. frankly, i would even go so far as to suggest most of those who complain about the wild olive wouldn't have a clue how to unfold their napkin in a place like alinea, in chicago. and i say this as someone who can honestly claim to have dined in six of the highest rated restaurants in the united states. quite simply, the food in the wild olive is some of the best in the southeastern united states. the only drawback in the menu is fairly limited, and there is nowinelist, but apart from those minor annoyances the food is superbly prepared and served by competent wait staff. and it is not a fast food place, so sit back relax, and enjoy a culinary experience that will shock you. the only question you should leave with is how does a dinky little town like crestview deserve a restaurant with such high standards?

recently had the blackened fish sandwich. it was really good. the fish tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. it came with a house made tarter sauce that was very sweet tasting, too sweet for me. my only problem was with the fish, it was over salted in places, so much so that it came across bitter with some bites. the french fries were crisp and obviously just made. service was great. overall a good place to eat.

terrific. i didn't expect to find a place like this in crestview. the restaurant is very comfortable and nicely decorated. i had the steak, and it was terrific!! my wife had the pearl street grouper, which she loved. we wish that we had saved room for some of the great desserts that they offered. we were also able to bring our ownwinein, which made our meal that much better. i would highly recommend dining at the wild olive.

blah italian. i keep trying the wild olive hoping to like the food, but haven't yet. limited choices, slow inattentive staff, and no wine. if you must eat here, there's a nice spinach salad. i've tried the grouper several times, always dry and overcooked. did i say that you can't get a glass ofwinewith your meal?
