good food, poor service. the mrs & i have been here a few times. the prices are high and the service a little slow, but those are factors we are willing to accept for what was in our opinion a nice break from the standard bcs fare. however, our most recent trip was our last.
we came in at lunch on a rainy weekday afternoon and were prepared to wait in the standard long lines and deal with slightly slower than par service. after ordering, the college student / hippie at the register paused a moment and stared at the tip jar then back to us. as i was raised, tips are allocated after the transaction is complete - as in when i finish my meal. if service wasgoodthe customer has the option to reward hard work with additional funds. tips are not obligatory. we were getting take out, so the end of the transaction in this case would be when we left the establishment with our to-go box. apparently not tipping before receiving our order rubbed the help the wrong way. the clerk's demeanor changed from polite to snotty. our order came very late, cold and short a sandwich.
to sum it up, the staff at village acts like a bunch of spoiled brats with a sense of entitlement. service is slow and the prices are too high. we will not return.
