i'm into a laid back atmosphere so thisplaceis perfect..best drink selection, good staff, good people..definately my choice of places to hang out!

what a terrible experience! walked in and half theplacewas reserved we sat at the bar and said we would like a table, bartender said no problem. we were seated, then some guy says you can't sit here because you smoke. moved us again and then another guy says you can't sit here. a terribleplacefull if workkwrs who are pricks.

greatplaceto drink on friday and saturday- food is not impressive-

not too impressed. i have given thisplacea couple chances to impress but to no avail. i was not impressed with thisplaceat all. the food was exactly what you expect for the price, poor quality and boring. i'd rather spend more money and have something of good quality. i have had to wait constantly to get served drinks on more than one occasion. i don't mind if the staff is having fun but i'd like to get my drink before i see you do your shots while working. i can say that the entertainment i have seen there is better than most downtown. the bar did appear to be very clean which is always a plus. mainly just service issues with this place.

this is by far the best bar in memohis, food is also great. i live in new york city and thisplaceis as solid a lounge as i have come across. it's a chillplaceto eat and sip drinks during the day and gets bumpin later on at night. a ton of fun at a classy establishment. i will certainly return on my next stop in memphis.

where to spend your staycation!. the silly goose on peabodyplacein downtown memphis...my new staycation destination. it is like a manhattan lounge without the dress codes. it has televisions everywhere and computers located in their library for anyone to use. there is a laptop bar for folks who just can't get away from work. the selection of drinks behind the bar is huge. there is a section in the back with huge sofas for groups to gather. out on the patio there is a constant breeze from the river, very comfortable...and great for people watching! they have pub style menu that is light and delicious! i don't know how the magic happens but the crowd there is always fun, i meet a new friend there every time. the goose is all about comfort and friends!

silly? geese? didn't see either... but wait.... there's more.... super casual atmospshere, wii on the community screen, awesome staff, awesome food, internet access, bartenders on point... thisplacehas got it all. for the quality of all these things and being downtown... you'd be a fool to go anywhere else for a downtowner's night out. when you meet the guys running thisplaceyou know these guys have worked hard to make casual look easy

jango. the goose is the wildest bar i have been to in awhile. those guys who work there are having way to much fun and it transfers over to the customers. easily the best bar downtown

new downtown pub. thisplaceis one of the most comfortable pubs i've been to in memphis. i have lived here for over a decade and have seen places come and go but it seems that " the goose" (as people call it) will be here for a long time. the owners, daniel masters and abram derosier, are friendly and engaging. this will quickly become your own personal "cheers" after a couple visits.

very cozy. from the flatbreads to the 300 liquors to the wall of books this is theplaceto come. we had flatbread that was wonderful , and since it monday we had a one dollar rob roy, one dollar every monday they have the one dollar drink specials. my date liked that they have large screens to watch the game, but i prefered sitting on the patio in the sun.

life without swig. that's excactly what daniel and abraham have given the neighborhood.

thank god these men have vision.

note: as always, i have no vested interest in this venture. i'm just a guy from the neighborhood.

thisplaceis a welcome addition to the downtown scene. unlike its predecessor, the silly goose is a warm, cozy, kick back and relax place. after a long day, what else could you ask for?

selection?

if there is a more impressive selection of fine liquors in a bar, i haven't seen or heard of it.

stressed out?

this is theplaceto unwind after a long day at the office, theplaceto meet with your friends before an orpheum or fedex forum event, or get some quality face time with your best girl/guy.

food?

the flatbreads on the menu are both delicious and go well with the too numerous to count drinks available. the menu is limited, but really solid.

sports?

thee well placed televisions make watching the big game easy. since opening, they have always opened early so the downtowners can come in and watch the tiger games. us downtowners appreciate that sort of service.

how about some lunch and aplaceto get a bit of e-work done?

in addition to having wifi available, there are two general use computers set up for customer use.

need to get away for a bit?

tired of the internet and computers from work? select one of the many novels from the library shelves, grab a piece of the sofa, and relax.

you'll be gald you did.

i highly recommend the silly goose. thisplaceis so friendly you'll want to come back over and over again.
