bone marrow pasta! must order. one of the bestitalianrestaurants i have ever dined at! especially love the bone marrow pasta .. amazing. the food good and service normal. the restaurant is however quite dim, but this could be suitable for a date/anniversary.

the only downside is cakage is like $5 per head which is a little annoying.

pendolino is my favouriteitalianrestaurant in sydney. it never fails to impress on a great selection of entrees & mains. i always order everything to share as i don't want to miss out on anything. the fresh pasta with any type of ragu' is delicious & there's always a lovely drop of red to match perfectly!

the service is always professional.

it is a little on the dark side but that's very nice for a more intimate meal as opposed to a larger group.

i will continue to return to pendolino for hopefully many years to come but generally only for a special occasion as it is a touch on the pricey side. well worth it for a birthday treat!

top notch. after stumbling across this place when in town alone on a work trip,i decided to come here with my partner when on holiday.
service was great, wine list exceptional, and the food was traditional but executed to perfection.
they are not trying to rewrite the rules here but do simpleitalianwith top ingredients and do it very well.
recommend 8/10

one of sydney’s finestitalianfine-dining restaurants. the food is delicious, although expensive, still worth making at least one visit for a special occassion.

i had the spaghetti with crab as a entree and the duck as a main- both impeccable and delicious. they also provide an complementary bites to eat when you arrive, and a while bread cart to choose your own bread- this was such a nice touch and the bread and olive oil were so so yummy!

the wine is quite pricey but worth it when matches well to your meal. would definitely return once back in sydney.

the restaurant pendolino is my favouriteitalianrestaurant in sydney. it’s stylish, the service is faultless and very italian, the wine list extensive and with every meal you have a mini olive oil masterclass.

when i asked the waiter for his recommendation for a pasta, he recommended the class pendolino ravioli di magro (pictured). he said the dish is life changing. when i ate the ravioli, i understood what he meant. the ravioli, handmade filled with spinach, and served with a burnt butter and sage sauce as well as grated parmesan cheese was without doubt the best pasta i have eaten outside of italy. this pasta dish is a game changer.

as every meal should end with a dessert, we were pleased that the desserts were as divine as the savoury parts of the meal. the highlight was the ‘eclair alla gianduia’ (pictured), a chocolate hazelnut eclair served with toasted hazelnuts, sweet cream, candied apricots and nocello. decadence at it’s finest.

the restaurant pendolino is one of sydney’s finest restaurants. world class actually. #therestaurantpendolino

beautifulitalianrestaurant inside the strand in the city. i have visited for both lunch and dinner and the experience is fantastic for both. i like their cafe section which has a limited menu but great for a casual lunch. make sure you save room for their tiramisu, it’s one of my favourite in sydney!

for those melbournians amongst us, this is the cecconi of sydney. deliciousitalianfood served in a classy old world setting. a few nice touches such as the complimentary olive oil tasting platter before lunch and the chocolate truffle after lunch. my beef carpaccio was stunning and the mushroom parpadelle pasta was delicious although not enough pasta in it. would have been a 4.5 if the serves were bigger and prices a touch lower. but highly recommended for a special lunch.

if you're looking for a proper fancyitaliandining experience in sydney cbd, this is the place. i've had free lunch and paid dinner here. it's an ideal place for the business meetings or awkward dates. to be direct, pasta is great here. if you don't want to screw up your order and waste some hard-earned cash, make sure you order pasta.
these are the good/safe dishes - alba beef carpaccio, msc scallop & salmon tartare and ‘wild weed’ spaghetti. i had char-grilled farm quail for main but it was a bit too salty for my liking. other dishes i'm not too sure how good they are, but i'm confident anything pasta or risotto will be safe to order. for dessert i had tramezzino di pistacchio, it was divine. i give this place 4 bears.

will not recommend at all, regard to the quality of food it’s over priced, spaghetti is under cooked( it’s aitalianrestaurant) the flavour combinations is average, service is a bit messy, after we finish our meal a waitress pop us the nibbles which meant to be for the table next to us.

at the upper echelon of sydney’sitalianrestaurants sits the restaurant pendolino, taking up a commanding position at one end of the strand arcade. from the moment you step out of the lift, you get the feeling that your evening is in safe hands. you’re ushered to your table to a chorus of greetings from kitchen and floor.water, bread and an array of extra-virgin olive oils land in rapid succession; aperitivo orders are taken; the specials are explained; the sommelier is summoned.with more than a decade with this restaurant, group sommelier cristian casarin, will expertly weave your personal preferences into a narrative adventure that travels through far flung vineyards and locales. for us it’s a new grape – albana – from the emilia-romagna region. it was initially a dessert varietal, but when cultivated with improved quality, makes for a lovely table wine in the 2015 gariete folesano igp ($98.40).the wine’s initial sweetness makes it a perfect match to knödel. accompanied by a roasted marrowbone, this plump bread, spinach and ricotta dumpling arrives at the table with plenty of pomp and ceremony. first elegant bone broth is poured, then...

pendolino in the strand arcade has been on my list to try ever since i’ve been to their sister restaurant, la rosa, also in the strand arcade. and on a friday evening when a bottle of red wine is much called for, not much beats a heartyitalianmeal.

the pendolino service was, well, an experience. we were served by several waiters, a manager (although we did have to wait 10 minutes for the manager to come take our order as it wasn’t within a waiter’s scope to do so), and a wine sommelier. we were also served complimentary items including an appetiser and chocolate truffles with great pomp and ceremony. all the staff were extremely professional, and there were a lot of them, so we definitely felt well taken care of.

however, the food, which is far more important to me than the service, was not as amazing. several of the dishes were salty which is a shame as they were actually would have been topnotch were it not for the salt...

located in sydney's historic strand arcade, restaurant pendolino offers some delightful refineditaliandishes. i ordered a three-course meal last monday - ravioli, pork belly and semifreddo. they were decent food but not exceptional. the ravioli was freshly made but they came a little undercooked. the pork belly was acceptable but it was not intensely flavourful or creatively made to leave a long impression.
