three for a "dog" lunch... you know, a hot dog craving that overcomes you and usually results in a disappointing "why did i eat that" aftermath. this place really scored high on my "pooch list". 100% beef brisket dogs with no added fillers. locally sourced ingredients, fresh bread products, a great beer selection, and friendly service (special thanks to our server, seaglen). the murray morgan bridge brat and the tideflats were of special note and warrant a repeat visit our next trip to "the land of clouds". strongly recommend.

my wife wanted to stop here for the vegan hot dogs. my wife got the nature boy and i got the north end not dog. the nature boy had beans in it, which i regret not getting, but the north end not dog had lil chilies that had good flavor and spice. also, ordered the rainy daze ipa...a little too malty for me, but ordering during happy hour didn't make me regret it that much. will be coming back.

easy food menu with an amazing draft/cider selection. cool vibe, although somewhat hipster, 21 and over only. great place for a hot dog and beer with a kick.

my favorite place to grab food and a beer in tacoma. it is small scale, they moved to a bigger place in the same building a little bit ago. i love their beer selection and hot dogs. sometimes their service can be a little strange so don't go here if you're picky about how long it takes, because it can get busy. go to relax have good beer and chat with friends.

not worth it. i have been to red hot three times and each time the service has been embarrassingly bad. first time i went the guy serving us started giving me a hard time because i wasn't drinking beer. really not a big deal at first, but when he wouldn't drop it and started rolling his eyes at me i got a little frustrated. also when i got up to pay my tab he told me to go sit back down and to not be impatient. didn't want to go back after that, but it is a popular spot and some friends wanted to go so i went. everything was going okay minus not being able to find a seat, but that's not a big deal. one of my friends tries to order a combination of two hot dogs and spends a while describing what he wants to our waitress. she brings us all out separate orders of the two hot dogs he was describing. six in total when he had just ordered one. he apologizes and says that wasn't what he ordered. no one was upset. mistakes happen, but she tried to argue and tell him that this is what he ordered. we aren't quite sure what to do at this point. no one has ever tried to tell me i what i ordered before, so i'm lost. he tries to explain and she cuts him off and tells him not to be a jerk. at this point i just offer to buy the hot dogs so i can get back to my beer. i'm sure they are tasty and i will like both of them. i always hear great things about the food. the hot dogs were fine. not super good. just different. the waitress keeps coming back at least every two minutes asking if everything is fine and if we want to close out our tab. the worst part was she tried to put everything on my friends bill when i said i would pay for the hot dogs. even thee beer we had ordered was on there. we ask to get it separated a bit more evenly and all she does is separate the beers and leaves the food on the same check. i'm done at this point and just pay for it all myself so i can get out of there. the last time i went was a little while ago when my girlfriend asked to go because she had never been. i figure its worth a try so she can say that she has been. we get there at ten and sit down. our waitress comes up as we are looking at the food menu and she asks what we would like. we ask for one more minute because we are checking out the hot dogs and cant decide. a few minutes later she comes back and takes our beer order. when i start to order my food she cuts me off and says the kitchen is closed. i get it. you want to close up in an hour. thats fine. just would have been nice to know before we sat there staring at the menu hungry. the nail in the coffin happened when she walks up with our beers sets them down and asks if we need anything else. as she is about to walk away she mentions to my girlfriend that they were out of the beer that she ordered so she got her another one that was just as good. i have put up with enough at that place. i'm done. i'll be heading to the parkway, thank you.

just had a terrible service experience. very rude waitress who wouldn't even bring us our dogs to go; one of the cooks delivered it to us instead.

the menu has many, many different styles of hot dogs to choose from: classics such as a chicago-style (mustard, relish, onion, peppers and a pickle spear) they call the tacoma, a new york classic the coney (mustard, meat chili and onion) and even a version of the infamous seattle-style (cream cheese, grilled onion, mustard), but they call it the 6th ave strut and use fresh, not grilled onions. they have sausage and vegetarian options as well as the standard hot dogs to choose from. they also have an imaginative streak and have many unusual and creative items on the menu: the tideflats ( two dogs, open-faced with mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, peppers, jalapenos, kraut, chili, slaw and nacho cheese - whew!) which isn't for the faint of heart and today's much simpler, but no less creative, selection, the hosmer hound dog.

even though it's unusual, it's a very basic hot dog - a poppy seed bun, smeared with peanut butter, a hot dog and two strips of bacon. i couldn't really wrap my

the red hot is amazing. great food, great service, great beer, great atmosphere. it can get a bit crowded and people tend to linger so getting a table can be problematic. but, the clientele this place attracts isn't opposed to offering up an unused seat or two when things get really busy. if your looking for the best dogs inn wa head to the red hot.

didn't even get to try the food because they wouldn't let our two and four year olds, restrained in a wheelchair and stroller into the establishment at noon. note to red hot. you are a hot dog establishment. even if you wanna be a bar at night you should broaden your horizons for families.

favorite place in t-town. best hotdogs in washington state and if you are a beer drinker only the parkway tavern can provide a better selection. the combo of brews and dogs can't be beat. the service is more favorable to your regularity. if you are regular you are part of the red hot community.

great dogs. red hot has great dogs and excellent beers. i have no problem with the service or the people, i think they are great. if it is really packed then maybe service slows. that is not the servers problem. this is a great hot dog tavern it is not el gaucho or canlis. service is much better than lots of taverns, in fact most.

what a dissapointment! it's a great concept. we were craving a great hot dog and didn't get it. in saying that the actual flavor of the beef in the hot dog was good, but very skimpy on the toppings. same with the nachos. this place came recomended and it was nothing but a disappointment! not to mention the waiter "joe" who's only statement when we told how bad it was, only said well "i didn't cook it, so it's not my fault". if you are really craving a good hot dog then head to portland oregon to a small place called roakes, foot long coney islands. we have been known to make a 6 hour round trip drive for their coney's.
