great food. i really love the perch but don't go there in the morning if you are trying to make a meeting, the service is very, very, very slow. expect to wait a good 20-30 minutes before you receive your food and can be out the door. this is a place you need to go when you have time to burn. the system of ordering, waiting in line and the food being brought to you is not very effective. hopefully they can work out the kinks in the new green hills location.

crepes are fabulous, but.... awesome crepes, but a bit pricey for the quality! but since it is within walking distance to my house...i am drawn to this place! staff is friendly half of the time...the other half they are toooo busy to smile! it's probably my 3rd best crepe place though & that's saying a lot because they are all over the place in seattle where i'm from!!

i discovered the perch a few years ago. there are not many restaurants that has crepes this good. however to get one will take you at least 25 minutes or longer with a moderate crowd. when there is a heavy crowd, the wait is much longer. owners are great. maybe they need more crepe makers.

nice and crepey. went there on a whim during a business trip...brentwood area. had the crepe with warm apples and sugar and a latte. best of both i've had since paris. all too common for local cafes here in the south to tout the goods but fall short. if you're in for more than the corporate coffee 'stores' can offer, try the perch. you won't be disappointed. prices were fair, too. service was excellent. go late and avoid the rush if you want your choice of seating.

overpriced and not very unique. i agree with some of the previous reviewers on two points: price and quality. first, as to price, the cheapest crepe with no toppings is $3.50. for the savory crepes, you are looking at $7.50 to $8.50. for $7.50 at most restaurants, you will get a full meal and feel satiated at the end. in this place, the $7.50 crepe is a small crepe with very meager amounts of filling.

i ordered a chicken, feta crepe and my wife had a herb turkey, arugula, cheese crepe. while this type of crepe is not a typical menu option in brentwood/franklin, the "uniqueness" of the idea doesn't save it. my chicken feta crepe tasted as if they had used canned chicken (in fact, i feel almost positive that they did) and it just didn't taste fresh. my wife's turkey crepe had the same problem -- little filling and the turkey tasted like it was out of a bulk package of sliced turkey. also, i ordered a $4 serving of the gouda grits. they were unremarkable and lacked flavor.

the only one who enjoyed her meal was my little girl who had the peanut butter/banana crepe. it was the perfect size for her and she liked the taste. but, even there, i must say that it was pricey for what it was.

overall, i spent $35 for brunch/lunch and came out of the place hungry (and i am not a huge eater) and underwhelmed with the food i had just consumed. thus, if anything, i would only go back and have coffee (which was acceptable) and order a snack (one of the $3-5 things). but, for a meal, no way would i go back.

missed the mark.... ....with mediocre ingredients. the chef's skills were artful and technically perfect, but unfortunately, the food itself was simply bland. i ordered a crepe with pear, blue cheese, carmelized walnuts and onion, arugula and a balsamic reduction. i could not taste blue cheese at all and the walnutty flavor just wasn't there. so, i also sampled the shrimp and gouda grits. smoked gouda? really? didn't taste like it to me...and it was exactly that: shrimp and grits and cheese of some sort, nothing more-nothing less. i come from charleston where shrimp and grits means a lot more than just shrimp and just grits.
i guess i expected more from such a cute cafe in such a prime location.

lovely. my experience at the perch was delightful. my crêpe lunch was reminiscent of my days in paris but with a calmer atmosphere. i spent a peaceful morning enjoying great coffee, an excellently made crêpe, and a quiet, friendly vibe.

i would like to address some negative comments made about this establishment. in regard to the $4 tip fee, anyone who has worked in the restaurant business as a waiter can attest to the benefit of automatic gratuity. most restaurants now have an 18-20% gratuity added for parties of a certain size, according to their accommodations limit and such. doing the simple math, the perch's $4 tip fee on parties of four or more equals out to be 10% gratuity or less. i ask that you take this into account before making a judgement on their policy.

interesting equation. twelve and zero = twelve

the number of times we've eaten there & loved it before the auto added tip fee is at least 12. the number of times we have eaten there since is zero. the number of people we have told about the ridiculous policy of automatically adding a $4 tip fee if you order 4 or more crepes is at least 12......and counting. what were you thinking????

totally awful!. unfortunately, this is perhaps the worst meal my wife and i have paid for in middle tennessee. each of our crepes were rubbery, cold and tasteless. i had the egg and cheese crepe - the single egg was very, very over-cooked (tasted like it was over cooked and then put into a microwave). it was dry and was so bad as to be almost un-eatable. my wife had the crepe with herbs and balsamic vinegar glaze. her's was also extremely bad. the balsamic vinegar was almost completely absent, the crepe was also rubbery and cold. the prices are quite high for such low quality and the service was very slow. sorry, i know this is a husband and wife business and they're trying to make a living, but, they really need to improve their quality or try something else.

little place, good service. i stopped in to grab a quick lunch at the perch. the small restaurant/coffee shop seemed to be doing quite a business. the guy working up front taking orders was incredibly friendly and helpful. i had a emmental swiss and portabella mushroom savory crepe. my one wish (besides more seating) would be for some kind of side, perhaps a small green salad lightly dressed with a vinaigrette. that would've completed a delicious, light lunch along with my iced chai tea. i wish i lived closer in order to try their fancier coffee drinks and their sweet crepes!
