a colleague and i were in new plymouth for the day so we asked a passing local where to get lunch. they pointed to the mayfair and off we went. we weren't disappointed. friendly and prompt service, my fish n chips were fantastic - very crispy and meaty fish, big tasty and perfectly cooked chips and and an excellent salad to go with it....sam's beef burger was seriously large, and (he said) very flavoursome with lots of random tasty bits. all very good and an excellent coffee to finish. a very big bonus for our working lunch was the cafe's ultra-fast broadbandservice- good to see savvy business people installing this for customers. obviously a popular place with locals and on a perfect taranaki day it was an excellent choice.
