discrimination against latinos and people with limited english proficiency. worst service ever. we were mistreated because of our national origin.

while it's possible that we just went on a really off day, 3 out of 3 dishes my husband and i tried were really bad. he started with tacos, which we sent back to the kitchen. this is the only time we have ever returned food at a restaraunt. second dish was edible, but not very good. i had a chicken tortilla soup that i could barely eat. the meat tasted really off, but the waitress assured us it was fresh. i really wanted to like this place. the design is incredible, the staff was friendly, and the didn't charge us for the dish we sent back. but honestly i will never eat there again.

hit and miss. the drinks were good. the braised pork was good. the service was good. the chicken rojas enchiladas could have come out of a boxed frozen dinner.

no babies welcome even outside at lunch. the hostess explained our 3 month old couldn't join us bc matador is technically a bar, not a restaurant and it was washington state law. really? i think she didn't have the guts to say it was managements policy.

went back another night - wasted a baby sitter. really loud music, hard to talk. had chicken soup and needed a knife to eat it, large chunks of chicken tortilla and avocado would not for in a soup spoon. it was so-so, wouldn't order again. waste of a date night, great place if you want to eat ok tex-mex in a nightclub.

one of the best burgers i have had in a long time. chipoltle sauce was fantastic, not to chipoltle, fry's were delicious. decor was well thought out and very fitting. tacos outstanding. need to change the music so it fits the ambiance not the bartender. great resturaunt.

have been here several times. really cool place to hang out with friends! the atmosphere is lively, service is quick. the margaritas are superb!. i had the chipotle mushrooms and grilled stuffed jalapeños. they were yum. this place is conveniently located behind redmond town center a 2 min walking distance from redmond residence inn and marriot. will go again!

this place has a nice decor and ambience. the food tasted quite lovely. i tried their crispy fried calamari and shredded chicken burrito. i would highly recommend their burrito.

this place was always crowded, which had been one of the reasons we seldom attempt to come here. since we were a little early, we decided to try it. the wait was about 15 mins, which wasn't too bad. we ordered the crispy fried brussel sprouts, and it was very good. i had the verde chicken burrito, and it was also too good. the portions were large, so we couldn't finish.

been to matador multiple times. good place for drinks & decent mexican cuisine. matador is also open till late, so good option if you are looking for a late night bite.

this is one of my "go to" places in tacoma. i really their happy hour, menu selections, prices, quality and service. everything i have ordered from the matador has been consistently good. the atmosphere comfortable and the noise  level on a busy is not so bad once you get used to it.

went for a lunch and ordered:
chipotle mushrooms - spicy and yet so good, a very good dipping sauce
ancho chile wings - average size wings with a kick 
spicy mexican shrimp - fresh and tasty; try both sauces
chile rubbed mahi mahi - tasty fish tacos; the slaw can use some seasoning to kick it up a notch
mexican street corn - roasted corn on the cob mexican style; a good side dish or snack

setting and atmosphere are great for a date. price is reasonable, a few bucks more than antojo per dish.

bartender and hostess were rude. i asked if i could sit on the patio with my daughter who is 18 and they refused to serve us. we don't even drink alcohol. i would never recommend an establishment like this to another individual. the manager of this restaurant needs to find another occupation as this is not his cup of tea.
