very fresh and flavorful. generous portions, and entrees come with a salad so you’re pretty much guaranteed leftovers, especially if you indulge in an appetizer (we had spring rolls!) servicewas well-timed and gracious. definitely will come back.

had a great lunch there today. fresh salad. great spice on the thai entree and a delicious lemoncello sorbet for dessert. wonderfulservicealso and you can't beat the price. on my short list of real favorites

what a great treat!. this place is a gem in utica! expect mostly authentic southeast asian items with a slight "western" touch, but also do not expect "chinese" food. the lotus garden is not your typical asian food joint. this is a good thing. it is special and i've had remarkable meals and greatservicehere. the closest i've ever had to this food was when i was traveling through southeast asia. do not be confused by the menu. the owners and staff will be patient if you're not fully up-to-speed on the names and ingredients. if you tell them what you like and do not like, i would always count on a great owner/chef recommendation. i will be back often.

the first time i went here it was awesome ! i had no complaints whatsoever ... however i recently went with some friends and not only did the waitress give an attitude at my friend ordering ice cream instead of a meal, but theservicewas not the greatest, very slow and needless to say i was disappointed . i think the key is coming when there aren't a lot of people there... but if you do, prepare to be ignored.

never a bad meal. i've tried many dishes on the menu, since i work in utica and it's very convenient, and i've never been disappointed. yes, there are dishes that i prefer, but in terms of the quality of the ingredients and the preparation, i have no complaints. not only is the food excellent, but i love seeing the next generation of ethnic restaurants come up; utica has a great tradition of italian, lebanese and deli restaurants and i love seeing the new flavors come with the new residents of our area. a really lovely family owns and runs the restaurant, and they're always available for advice and recommendations. as for the review that mentioned servers who don't speak english, i haven't had that experience; i've had a server who is still learning english and didn't speak it that well, but the experience was still good. (for the love of all you hold dear, we're a nation of immigrants - for the most part - and you're going to criticize some one who's new here and learning as if your ancestors emerged from the womb knowing every language they might ever need? that speaks more to your character than the quality of theservicehere.)

yummy, good, delicious pad thai. really nice waitress; very promptserviceby her and the kitchen. specials of the day (squash blossoms appetizer and green bean dish) were freshly made and delicious. v

excellent but variable. this place has excellent food and the owner "sam" is a charmer. the food is a bit variable from time to time (as his wife is actually a better cook, so it depends who is cooking that day), but it is always magnificent. it is not typical japanese, chinese, or thai food, so if you go in with an open mind for a new food experience and order something that sounds unfamiliar, then you will be impressed.

theserviceis also variable. sometimes the servers are great and on the ball, and other times they do not speak any english, or just completely ignore you.

it is not a quick meal ever, but it is a wonderful experience, and the food is excellent.

delicious and filling food! i loved the "choose your spicy" option. theservicewas wonderful; the chef came out and greeted us- you don get that often in nyc unless you're a v.i.p. and our waitress was a doll. overall great place. i'll be going back.

pretty good but not great. they seem to do vietnamese pretty well, but not all of their asian dishes are great. their pad thai was definitely not up to par. theserviceis good, servers are really nice.

authentic, delicious!. authentic, delicious food made with fresh ingredients. the calimari is absolutely wonderful along with the summer rolls. theserviceis great, they went out of their way to explain dishes, and make suggestions. bring a bottle of wine and enjoy a fantastic meal!
