we tried-
*curried chicken lettuce cups with salsa
*peri peri spiced chicken tenders
*garlic bun with cheese-in the pic it seems soft pull apart bun but in actual it is crisp toasted bun

*chicken steak with creamy mushroom sauce
*dum chicken biryani- do not miss this..highly recommended

lcrgymkhanais one of the hidden gems of pune for me that has just emerged. it’s a very new place and also now a very favourite place of mine. it has thing to its retro ambience which really looks so cool. it has adopted an old tradition of how clubs used to be where people used to actually hangout and have a normal talkaround. firstly we had some cocktails and starters and they were just true to the taste. not too much fancy garnishings but what really truly matter, taste exactly how the drink should be. then comes the main course, this needs separate column for appreciation. the dishes were so authentic to the taste that i dont really have words to explain. we had paneer lababdar, chicken lababdar and one of the best there is dal makhni, i dont even remember when i had such good main course in a while. i’m truly a fan of this place and i would extremely urge you to give it a try.

the lcrgymkhanabrings back the old school charm of the colonial clubs back in the day. the layout is divided into two areas, a ball room and a permit room. the former exudes a grand vibe while the latter is a small cozy place buzzing with music and is an ideal place to wind off. the menu offersgymkhanafavourites such as eggs kejriwal, bun maska and so on coupled with indian and continental classics. the bar menu has a selection of exciting cocktails & mocktails to be paired with the delectable appetizers. a fairly reasonably priced menu coupled with top notch food and some nostalgic vibes, lcrgymkhanais the place to be.

lcrgymkhanahas always been listed amongst my favourite places in pune to binge onto some great food. tried the following dishes and relished every bit of it.
starters-
✅punjabi murg tikka- succulent pieces of chicken marinated and grilled to perfection. if you like your tikka spicy, you definitely should opt for this one.
✅pahadi murgh tikka- medium spiced chicken tikka had a lip-smacking flavour. surely a must try.
✅murgh malai tikka- this truly was the best amongst all. white grilled chicken pieces which irresistibly yum, you just can’t afford to miss out on this one.

maincourse:
✅ kashmiri mutton rogan josh- juicy mutton pieces placed in richly flavoured thick gravy had an appetising aroma. tastes best with roomali rotis. highly recommended.

✅dum chicken biryani- just likethe name suggests both the presentation and the taste of the biryani surely justifies it to be their speciality. the rich aroma and its exquisite taste kept me drooling. solely recommending this one.

desserts:
✅ tiramisu - truly one of the best i’ve eaten in a while and it’s their best-selling too.

overall, we had a great dining experience at lcr gymkhana. the service is great and quick. both the quantity and quality of the food served here is commendable. can’t wait to go back and try their house steaks which they have introduced recently in their menu. perfect place to dine in over a hearty meal with family and friends.

i'd say law college road is finally blessed with a place to be !
the lcrgymkhanawith its beautiful ambience , typical gy mkhana club like vibes and delicious food is definitely hitting the spot.
we started with the very well known whiskey sour and old fashioned amongst the various cocktails and some scrumptious masala cheeseling bhel and were definitely now disappointed.
then we moved on to the typical baba wada thats served in thegymkhanaclubs. we also tasted the droolworthy garlic bun which cheese and highly recommend the same.
one can also try their spinach corn croquettes which are equally good.
moving on to mains the lcr special pizza if a must have!
i have never eaten a veg pizza thats sooooo goood!
i also had the prawns and parmesan pesto sauce steak from the 'make your own steak' section and found it to be decent.
the indian mains were absolutely fantastic wherein we tried the 9 gems malai kofta , lasson palak and dal makhni with assorted rotis.
when it came to desserts , their mindblowing tiramisu won my heart but i'd also like to make a special mention of their decadent chocolate mousse .
you are not supposed to miss this place! ;)

i really loved the concept of 'gymkhana' themed restaurant that gives you access to all 'gymkhana club' amenities. 'lcrgymkhana' has it all a private permit room, big projector screen to watch all sports matches, very grandeur, elegant & classy decor.
in cocktails i would suggest you
1) pinacolda & mojito in mocktails both the drinks are very cool& refreshing. perfect summer appropriate drinks to have.
2) in starters you can try the garlic bun with cheese, spinach corn croquettes, veg galoutis, baba wada & masala cheeseling bhel

special mention to their 'lcr special pizza' literally the best pizza i have ever had.

in main course the dal makhani was the highlight with a very unique taste & smoky flavour. i don't like spinach personally but this was so good their lassoni palak is a must try.
9 gems malai kofta is truly a gem just like it's name smooth creamy & rich gravy with garnished dry fruits. all of this served with hot & fresh garlic naan tastes divine.

in desserts tiramisu is the show stealer rest you can try blueberry cheesecake my favourite, chocolate mousse & some classic indian desserts like kulfi & gulabjamun

overall the quality, quantity served is value for money. totally worth it. wish to visit soon again.

gymkhana where gym means a sport and khana means a foodies club!
sogymkhanais usually associated with sports patrons who are passionate about their players, cheering team and like minded people who shared a similar view. these guys mingled over scotch, food and their respective families, making them a one united community.
these gentleman/ladies were quite hoity toity in attitude because they were a class apart and were emerging india’s idols in their genre.

an image the east india company and britishers left - years from quit india and independence…
india was on the map now, a democracy, a country with rich heritage. here lived indians who got educated in britain and europe, came to settled back in their country as budding indians building a new nation.

at a gymkhana, patrons ordered a continental menu, personalised menu from breakfast to dinner, eaten at different international locations.

lcrgymkhanais a restaurant that holds old school charm of good old educated punekars who hung out at this road ,gymkhanareliving good memories with comrades.

restaurant location :
lcr gymkhana
veeya vantage,
law college rd, pune

parking available at entrance, open the doors to an interiors which is very colonial – large ceiling, open french windows, airy and teak wood furniture. a large sports screen to the left and to the right a huge kitchen (enclosed). waiters waiting to guide you to your table and assist you in ordering.

menu has noteworthy classics from sunny sides, bun maska, egg kejrawal, cheese chilli toast to an exquisite mains in continental, chinese, italian and very indian.
what we had was :
i
the cheese garlic bun, spinach & corn croquettes, caper lemon butter prawns with bread sticks,
a mains of rogan ghost(mutton), dal makhani with garlic naan. followed with chicken biryani.
par excellence! everything is so well presented, service, price worth the mulla and an absolute pleasure to my taste buds. didn’t find anything to fault with criticism.

will surely visit again. now for the pictures and do press like if you found it informative and met your review expectations.
