disappointed. i was very excited to finally try out this restaurant. the menu is full of great flavor combinations and unique items. it was very busy when i showed up which, is agoodsign but the staff was very rude. i didn't think much of it because they were busy. the food was up quick but i think i would have rather them take some more time to have a better product. i got the hella fitzgerald add egg. everything was very bland. the red eye gravy tasted like water, the fried chicken was not seasoned at all. the breading was nice and crispy but flavorless. and seriously if the word "biscuit" is in your name, you should nail the biscuit!! the biscuit tasted like cardboard. i hope they were just having an off day. i won't be coming back.

very fast, i couldn't believe how fast, especially since we ordered off the menu. delicious biscuits. agoodvariety of options. their homemade sodas are verygoodtoo. a gem in the ghent area.

this place is reallygoodand a great place for a unique quick breakfast. i get the sandwich with fried chicken and gravy, wowee it is delicious. when family comes in town we always bring them here. it's a crowded spot but things move pretty quickly, so don't let the crowd deter you. this has become a quick favorite of ours!

i love going to handsome biscuit. the food is always fresh and delicious! the people also are very warm. you would never think that it was sogoodif you just drive by. it's a must for anyone coming to norfolk!

two thumbs up! this little place will fill you up for a verygoodprice! the biscuits are dense and have a great flavor! the service is super nice too! i'll definitely make back out here to try something new!

had a hella fitgerald saturday, the first half was amazing ! the cheddar, fried chicken & gravy were explosive with bold flavor . i tried to eat it as fast as possible bc as the temperature cooled off it was kind of hard to swallow. i think next time i will go with no gravy add jelly . still a verygoodmeal & i encourage everyone to visit . owner was very sweet

soo yum!!!. i loved it! will be back for sure. had the chicken with red cabbage and blue cheese, so good, different and delicious. hubby had the chicken with honey, homemade pickles, wholegrain mustard and yum. sogoodwill be back. oh on the downside, they need more seating and more parking, badly!

well i can see how it is not for everyone but, that being said its a terrific spot for agoodinteresting well prepared lunch. i like this place a lot and the fact that not everyone will love it keeps it accessible to those of us that do

the ella fitzgerald and the bleu blazer. the sandwiches here are generous sized. the ella fitzgerald ($6.50) biscuit sandwich contains boneless fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese and red gravy. i highly recommend ordering a side hot sauce to go with this beauty. the hot sauce is great, the sweetness from the honey and the spiciness from the garlic and red pepper paste worked well together. could this sandwich be anymore indulgent?! seriously amazinglygoodstuff.

its okay.... recomended by a friend, i checked it out 1030ish on a fri.
the good:
- staff very friendly, appreciative of the business and tipping
- got comped a cookie for waiting a bit... that'sgoodbusiness!
- hashbrowns tasty
the just okay:
- a little too hipstery for my taste (like your in the castro, not park place orf). music several decibels above normal.
- cramped... but no bother if you're taking out.
- biscuit was just okay
the why-i'll-probably-just-keep-going-to-yorgo's mostly:
- seemed a little pricey: $7+ for hashbrowns and egg/cheese biscuit
- won't scramble your egg, oddly
- not many veg options if you're so inclined
- a little slow when backed up, bring reading material
but ..goodchange of pace if you want something different and have time to wait. i hope they do well.

i tried this place today on a whim with a friend. it is a tiny little shop, but they are cranking out some really great food. i had the hella fitzgerald (deep fried chicken breast, bacon, cheddar, & red-eye gravy--which i got on the side, all served up on one of their handsome biscuits) with a side of potato crisp, and a heartbreaker (fresh banana, nutella, & bacon served up on a fresh, moist, made-from-scratch biscuit) for dessert. yum! yum! yum! this is one of those hole-in-the-wall local gems that you see on diners, drive-ins, & dives and you say "man! i wish we had one of those here!" well, now park place/ghent has their own triple d-worthy eatery. get there soon. verygoodeats to be had there.

the food is notgoodenough to make up for how rude the staff is. after deciding to wait in this tiny cramped space regardless of the line, i asked if there was a restroom. with a smirk the cashier replied, "yeah down the hall and to the left", there being no hall of course. i much prefer my food without a side of condescension, and therefore will never give my business to the handsome biscuit again.
