great food, loved the flavors. its pacific northwest meets indian, in terms of ambience. the food is not cheap indian food, and you can taste the difference. i think indian food deserves this sort of elevation.

loved the vibe, ambience and music! very casual but has its own sort of class. the mango lassi vodka  cocktail was unique and tasty-  they call it boozylassi! the lamb burger was moist and minty, the fried green banana had layers of flavors i could not identify. and the spiced chai kulfi was simply the best.

i'm not one to typically go and write a review but this place is the best indian restaurant i have ever been to!

as the waiter described it, it truly is a pacific northwest/seattle meets indian food vibe, right from the chalk board to the mason jars for water.

the flavors are incredible, none of the oily creamy sauce which does injustice to indian food since they all taste mostly the same.

we tried the chips and bhangra, chicken tikka, bacon bleu cheese naan, and the aloo kale curry and they were all very different, with unique spice profiles, textures, tastes, and nothing like what i have tasted in other indian restaurants elsewhere.

and do try their spiced hot wine! the menu is a bit of a shocker, as well as the food, but go with an open mind and you will be rewarded!

i had a lamb naan which was a chapati wrapped burrito with lamb, green pepper, onions etc. basically this place offers regular indian dishes as well as americanized versions of indian dishes. the taste was good.

i haven't tried other authentic indian dishes.

i remembered our trip to india a while back, and initially found it interesting that restaurants serve only chicken, goat and lamb along with seafood. then, it dawned on us that the no beef and no pork policy was for the majority hindu, and largest minority muslim population in india. most indian restaurants in the states also follows that rule — except guilt trip in redmond, striking out as the rule-breaker.  we went for lunch at off hours, so it was quite quiet.the menu is full of interesting dishes to try, and they have a chai bar and a lassi bar, which i will be back for.at the chai bar, they offer the kashmiri chai which has no milk, and 4 kinds of chais with different spice combinations.the lassi bar is even more adventurous, with flavors such as apple pie, saffron almond, tamarind date and mango chili.the prominent pork in the restaurant comes in the form of ...

can't believe i didn't try this place sooner! amazing indian food #proudtobeindian. after tasting curries and cr*p that tastes the exact same everywhere what a refreshing change.

i had the chole bature which tastes out of the world with the stuffed mozzarella cheese and chana side. the spiced wine is one of its kind, especially for an indian restaurant. my husband had the lamb burger and fries, as well as a house wine. must try! wait times are long on a friday but its worth the wait.

five stars for ambience and service. a fun restaurant with a happy vibe. from the beginning we were greeted warmly, and given a tour of the menu, since at first glance it's not obvious. that's only because we are so used to indian restaurants being of a stereotype - the curries, with sides of rice and breads. everything is different here, and once you begin to see it, it's incredible.

five stars to creativity, we only tried 'different' stuff. the lambda seattle was the best tasting lamb kabob i have ever had, complete with cream cheese and onions! my girlfriend tried the bacon butter chicken and it was very flavorful. my drink was hot spiced wine! wow! a fusion of fragrant spices in wine, and served piping hot! she had a yogurt smoothie lassi drink with spiced chocolate, and again it had a little heat and spice to it as well.

five plus stars to healthy and wholesomeness. the taste and quality of food is very wholesome and for the very first time after eating indian food, we did not feel stuffed, bloated, or thirsty afterwards. or the next day!

five star for price/value. my friend - who owns an infiniti and just got the latest lcd tv - thinks a $10 buffet is better value. but for a freshly made lamb kabob seasoned with amazing spices, complete with hand cut steak fries was only $15! i'm trying to compare with gourmet burger joints and this is incredible! i have to try the combo next time - $15 for a complete meal including a fresh chai made to order. mcdonald's combo meals are $10. a starbucks chai made of syrup and canned chai is $5. go figure!

cons? location and wait times. they were extremely busy on the friday night we went. i'm used to long wait times on weekends - any good place is like that, but wish there was a bar or something close enough to grab a drink while waiting. also i live in seattle so this is a bit of a hike.. but this is our new favorite food joint. don't miss!

guilt trip is an indian fusion restaurant – with dishes like cheese sticks and bacon butter chicken. it appeals because it is so different and so hard to fathom what some of these combinations would taste like without trying them. now, what to try between three people?

gluten-free and vegan friendly? hardly.. the other review calls this place friendly to those who are gluten-free and/or vegan. wouldn't you think the menu would say something about it? my feeling about places that are "willing to accommodate" those who are gluten-free or vegan is that they are in fact "happy to rip off" those people - take things off the dish but allow you to still pay full price for it.

i'd love to have some spicy indian food. i'm not going to slog my way through finding and requesting acceptable alternatives, especially if they are not shown on your menu.

amazing (spicy) food!. this place just opened and it is a must-try. everything is fresh and made to order. this means a bit of a wait, but the atmosphere of the restaurant makes this an easy wait to bear. servers are coming around and conversing, offering samples and continuous service so you know you aren't forgotten. chat amiably with them during slow hours or bring a book or tablet to entertain yourself with. the food is absolutely delicious. i will note that it is immensely spicy; if you struggle with this then order it half-spice or no-spice. the staff are happy to oblige. if you want to risk it then fear not! the restaurant offers a grand display of chutneys, raita's, or lassi's to cool your mouth with while you chow down.

the menu is full of variety, and the combo option allows you to sample everything while saving a good chunk of cash. kathi rolls are slightly more spicy than parathas, so keep that in mind when you order. all meats are cooked exceptionally well, and even the paneer (cheese) options are flavorful. the raitas offered allow you to mix and match to create a new meal every time you come in, and the flavors are always vibrant. be sure to try a guilty pleasure as well! the dessert parathas are delicious (a personal favorite being the white chocolate mocha).

all in all, this place is a great fusion of indian and american: they keep it classic where it counts and modernize when it tastes great. try going in at lunch, if you hit the dinner rush you're likely to have to wait.
