the funky muffin bakery

small little bakery. a little hard to find, look forglutenfree bakery sign. i tried the pizza muffin, delicious!!!
allglutenfree product, all so very delicious.

gluten free goodness.... my mother has aglutenallergy, so i regularly find myself cooking and eating gluten-free food. when it comes to baked goods, it is really difficult to turn out a great cake or cookie without using regular flour. anyone that can do it well, deserves an award... the funky muffin knows how to do it, and they're turning out awesome donuts, oatmeal cookies, and more. in a blind taste test, you would never know that the product isglutenfree.

my mom and i went the first day they were open and have had a few things since then as well. the muffins are a little dry for my preference but i know a lot ofglutenfree things are anyway and i also had them their first day of being opened so it might have been a trial and error thing they were still good though! the chocolate chips cookies were amazing and my mom loves the oatmeal cookies as well. today i tried the cinnamon and sugar doughnuts and omg!! they were so so so good and moist! we also ordered the chocolate doughnut which i feel would be better if i warmed it up, the chocolate one tasted more like "cakey" than the cinnamon and sugar and it was good but not favorite thing there the cinnamon and sugar was def the best! i really want to try the caramel doughnuts also soon i have seen on their fb page. i have also had their lemon bars which were pretty good but i wish it had a stronger lemon flavor and more filling. ( i tried the lemon on the first day as well so it may be different now since they have been opened for several weeks now) will def. be going back though to try out some more things!

friendly staff, fun and tasty food!. it's awesome to have a dedicatedglutenfree bakery in the birmingham area! i'm excited to see the things they're doing and are hoping to do. they do have a facebook page where they upload pictures of new items.

forglutenfree, i think they're reasonably priced. also, they have doughnuts! freaking donuts!! xd

fantastic. these guys are amazing. whether you need to beglutenfree or you're just looking for something new, this place won't disappoint. their menu is huge and entirelyglutenfree. out of all theglutenfree bakeries i've tried out in the southeast, the funky muffin stands at the top. the blueberry muffins are good. the orange cranberry muffins are incredible. the cinnamon buns are hands down the bestglutenfree cinnamon buns i've ever had. the cupcakes are fantastic with cake that actually tastes like vanilla with the right amount of sweetness. the consistency that allglutenfree baked goods have is your only clue that the cupcakes areglutenfree because the taste certainly won't clue you in. and man oh man, the apple pie leaves me without words.

the service is top notch and friendly as well. you can also phone in an order for whatever you want and they'll have it ready for you asap. the funky muffin is a game changer forglutenfree treats and birmingham is lucky to have them!
