classy sports bar. i know, i know, it sounds like an oxymoron, but the fours really is a classy sports bar. tastefully decorated with sports gear and large framed photos of famous bruins, celtics, patriots and red sox, the restaurant is a great place to watch the game or grab a bite to eat before heading over the td garden. surprisingly good food (compared to other sports bars), and they get extra bonus points for their chopped salad, which had kidney beans and chickpeas in it to give vegetarians a protein boost.

unbelievably awesome chicken sandwich!. my son and i recently took the train back home to nh from nj and we had a 3 hour layover at the north station. i had looked up possible places to have lunch to kill time while on the train and came up with 3 that were close to north station. to my dismay, the first 2 were closed at 2pm on a saturday! as it turns out, that was the best thing that could have happened because my 3rd choice was open - the fours on canal st. the service was excellent and we had plenty of room in our booth for all the luggage. i remember vaguely that my son got the fettuccini alfredo. i would normally have asked for a bite but my senses were completely overtaken by what was by far the best chicken sandwich i ever had. i ordered the doug flutie: fried chicken breast with melted mozzarella cheese, buffalo sauce, lettuce & tomato on a roll. it was the most tender and delicious sandwich and i enjoyed every single bite. the fries were extremely tasty as well but that sandwich . . . wow. i am afraid to order any chicken sandwich anywhere else now because i know i will be disappointed and i am looking for an excuse to get back on the noreaster to boston so i can go back to the fours. outstanding!

the fours [right across from td garden] i decided to join in on the playoff festivities in enemy territory. nope, did not get jumped while wearing my vancouver shirt. the dip: blend of artichokes, spinach, roasted red peppers, gruyère and mozzarella. baked and served with pita chips. the pita chips are thick and the dip is a mild compliment to the following nachos. buffalo chicken nachos: tortilla chips baked with tomatoes, scallions, mozzarella, topped with diced fried chicken and buffalo sauce. this is a great spin on nachos. the buffalo sauce is pretty spicy. game 3 in boston. vancouver fans gather at the fours, thanks to a facebook group organized by canuck fans in boston. veal parmigiana: breaded veal cutlets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella, served over linguine. very delicious. full menu served at the bar. pretty cheap for the large amount of food that they serve. it makes sense that tipping in the states is greater because of how cheap the food is. the staff were pretty

one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch.. this is a great place to bring you wife and kids before a sporting event at the garden. i have been reading the reviews and i know the rude waitress the people are talking about. i don’t know her personally but i have had a couple of run ins with her. the 1st time she just rolled her eyes every time i asked her for something. the second time she needed to put some menus down where i was standing and she took the stack of menus and jammed them into my back to get me to move. i just laughed at her. she obviously has a problem with her job. i don’t know why they just don’t firer her but don’t let her spoil your time there. the rest of the crew is great and very polite. i have bruins season tickets and i go there all the time with my wife and or daughters. great bar food and the atmosphere is totally for the sports fan. if you do go to the fours just avoid the 40 something year old skinny waitress with the bleached short hair cut. what a whanker!!!

game time. almost every time i've been to the fours it's been just before a game at the boston garden, and it's been crowded noisy and slow. on a monday afternoon at 3:30, however, it's very quiet, welcoming and pleasant. faster and no change in quality of food (happily). definitely my favorite place to eat when at north station.

this restaurant is very tasty, chowda is great...however, the fours is not located in the north end...it's actually situated in the bulfinch triangle which is the west end of boston. this site needs to familiarize itself with the neighborhoods of boston, especially if its going to be making restaurant recommendations.
