breakfast was really good. the atmosphere was cute and kitschy. i had the daily special which was an egg scramble with gruyere cheese, chunks of ham, and spinach, a side of moon dusted home fries, and a biscuit. it was incredibly delicious. my husband had the flying biscuit breakfast, which is essentially a standard plate of eggs, bacon, cheese grits, and a biscuit, all of which he really enjoyed. my mother-in-law ordered the healthiest scramble on the plate, and while i didnt have a taste, it looked pretty good. thebiscuitsare shaped funny and look undercooked, but looks are deceiving because they are cooked perfectly and soo good. i think the grits are a lot better than the moon dust potatoes; the rosemary really overwhelmed the potatoes. the pricing is just about right since you get a good portion of food. i would recommend this place to anyone.

wow, gotta be 10 years since i've been here.... i have to admit that i haven't had a lot of luck at the franchise locations, but i decided to head back and try the original after so many years.
i grabbed the egg special (3 eggs, onions, sundried tomatoes, roasted chicken, and goat cheese) and really enjoyed it. it came with some creamy grits and a biscuit w/ apple butter that hit the spot. can honestly say that i've never been a fan of thebiscuitsthemselves (i like them flaky and not simply "big"), but they certainly are not bad. all in all, i still like the original location because of the casual and quirky nature of it (as long as you get there before the brunch stampede, that is) and should really stop in more often because service has always been good and the folks have always been friendly. i have to remember that they've also opened up a counter for coffee and carryout bakery items.

this place was such a disappointment! one of the people in my group raved about the restaurant back in her hometown in florida. turns out the evans, ga location is absolutely nothing like the rest of the chain! we waited outside the restaurant for a half hour. then, we had to wait even longer for our food. seemed like the waitress forgot about our order altogether. the name implies there should bebiscuitsin the restaurant. nope! no biscuits! no rolls, either. the customer service was shoddy. everyone's meal came out at a different time! the waitress said one of our meals was dropped on the floor and had to be completely redone. it was closer to an hour before my friend actually got her meal! mine had a nasty hair in it which sure didn't come from my head, as it was underneath the food. when i brought this to the attention of the waitress, she went and got the manager. he was completely useless. he said the cook in the kitchen needed to see it. seriously?! he left with the plate and never returned! nothing was taken off our bill. not a damn cent! i will never eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone! spare yourself and eat somewhere else- anywhere else!!

staff stop writing reviews. nothing but thebiscuitsare original. and they are fair at best. everything in this restaurant is packaged. all they do here is open packaging from bulk packing they ordered from the huge warehouse for restaurants. even the honey for the biscuit came in the small package tube. seriously wouldn't you think they would have fresh homegrown honey for their "famous" biscuits". coffee was terrible go across the parking lot and get fresh ground from sb. i had to cut the vegetables in my omelet to make them bit size, so i could eat it.
the staff was grumpy and our server at the bar was very unpleasant. come on it is morning... who wants to be greeted that way first thing of the day.

this restaurant has the most mouth-watering breakfast food! i am a native charlottian but have been in college for 3 years and every time i visit home, i must eat breakfast here! the sugar-dustedbiscuitswith apple butter will leave you speechless. better yet, the creamy, dreamy grits will have your mouth watering for more!! the texture is so smooth! oh and the hash browned potatoes are nothing short of delicious either! nothing will be left on your plate! guaranteed! :)

terrible experience. cold/stale food, poor service. won't return!. whoever said it's impossible to screw up breakfast has obviously never been here. we ate here on sunday morning two weeks ago. we were seated outside on the patio (our mistake due to the scorching heat) and no one acknowledged us for at least 15-20 mins. we saw many other tables over the course of our meal receive the same treatment (we were all completely ignored).

the server who finally acknowledged us to take our drink orders was super rude and not at all pleasant. the sweet tea tasted terrible. we first incorrectly received unsweet tea, only then to nicely ask if we could get sweet tea. the sweet tea was not any better--- sour. it was probably another 30 mins before the food came out. it felt like an eternity.

the food we received was nothing short of awful. the 'healthy sausage' (only sausage option they had) was completely impossible to even chew. it was like rubber. thebiscuitswere rock hard. i could go on and on, but nothing was good. all of the food was very cold. for the prices they charge, i expect the food to at least be halfway decent.

i have been to other flying biscuit cafe's in other cities, and they have been decent. they at least bring a warm basket ofbiscuitswhile you wait. if i were you, i would stay away from this place. this business will not survive if they continue on this track.

i've heard so much about the flying biscuit cafe that i knew i had to try it. i finally got there this weekend. i went to their original location, fairly near inman park. it's an authentically funky spot. i ate at the take-out counter to speed things up. i hadbiscuitsand gravy and a side of sausage. quite frankly, i was slightly disappointed. on the plus side, the gravy was full of chunks of sausage. but it was too thin for my taste. gravy needs to be substantial---it is the glue that holds the ribs together during a hard day's work. i also found thebiscuitsto be a little too homogeneous and without the flaky structure that comes from hand working. it certainly hit the spot, but i think that some other locations around town that i've written about, such as country kitchen and silver skillet, have better (and more authentic)biscuitsand gravy. 0 comments: post a comment

they have the best and most deliciousbiscuitsanywhere, and the rest of their food is also pretty top notch. we started out with a blue moonmosa, basically a mimosa made of beer.

perfection. while visiting atlanta this past weekend, my girlfriend and i ate a late breakfast at the flying biscuit. the place is popular, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table at 2:00 pm on a saturday. the food was 100% worth the wait. i have eaten grits all my life, and my girlfriend doesn't even like grits, but both of us were floored by the truly "creamy dreamy" grits. the pumpkin pancakes with icing were amazing, and the eggs andbiscuitswere great. one complaint is that they evidently do not have real bacon, but only turkey bacon. ordinarily i would consider this sacrilege, but the other food is so good i didn't even miss the bacon.

decent food, good atmosphere. friends took me here for brunch on a trip to charlotte. there was a 20 minute wait for a table, which wasn't bad. i ordered the turkey hash, with turkey pot roast two eggs over medium, cheddar cheese and rosemary potatoes. the turkey wasn't mixed in with the potatoes, the way i usually picture corned beef hash, but was instead piled on top of the potatoes, then topped with the eggs and cheese. not necessarily bad, just a different presentation. i'm not sure if it was the turkey or the potatoes, but the seasoning was overpowering - not sure if it was the salt or the rosemary, but the more i ate, the more i became unable to continue. i actually left more than half the potatoes, something i never do, because the seasoning was too much. i had to steal my daughter's apple juice to rinse the taste, and three hours later i was dying of thirst.

my daughter had the oatmeal pancake and turkey bacon. the bacon was a bit too crisp, but entirely edible. the oatmeal pancake was thick, and seemed a tad bit underdone, but my daughter seemed to enjoy it.

thebiscuitswere huge and lightly dusted with sugar, just enough for a hint of sweetness with out tasting like a dessert biscuit. the apple butter available on the table was yummy.
