i went into the duke on mother’s day for a meal, everyone who had the carvery was happy with their meal but anyone who ordered off the regular menu was let down.. the garlic pizza is always lovely but the “duke burger” wasn’t very nice, the cheese was cheap supermarket cheese from a packet, the beef didn’t taste very nice and the chips were old or had been left out for a long time. the gammon was fatty and looked more like pulled pork or a boiled bit of ham , the chips were also the same with being old and left out. the staff are always sweethearts and super happy to help though. one of the meals was sent back and was replaced free of charge.

great food here. big hearty plates and a nice environment to be. good selection of beers and the staff are nice too. we always go here when family are here from the uk.

family of four. so hard to find a place to please us all. (i'm usually the one left disappointed - mrhardtoplease)

second visit for us. third coming very soon.

best. s&p squid. ever. so fresh and soft with a zingy lemon pepper. that's me sorted for main next time.

great kids' pizza for mrhalfpintbossyboots

good wednesday steak special for mrbigboots...although his eye was fixed firmly on my wagu burger (dare i say one of the best in perth...)

and soup of the day was big, hearty and quite flavoursome for mrsalwayssatisfied... and she loved the brusketta (sorry, in-joke)

but what happened to the newky brown.....?!

what a great feed and the atmosphere was great service was empicable will be back again. there is nothing i would say was wrong the my visit

we absolutely love the duke and are regular diners. the food is always delicious and the service is great. polite and attentive and always have a smile. a perfect local!

great food and lovely staff. really enjoy the weekly specials here especially the steak and the wednesday steak toppers, can't beat a $19 steak!

roast special sundays lunch & dinner is beautiful. its self serve, a good selection & price. meals have improved greatly after a rough patch 6mths ago, as a regular diner we're happy its made a comeback!

we come along every tuesday for the quiz night and the quailiy of food and service gets better and better. went for dinner last night and all 14 of us couldnt fault our meals. superb!

good place for a quick local feed and if you go on the right day, half price pizzas. i went with my wife not long ago and ordered more than we could even begin to finish. with drinks, $69.00. quality of food is good for pub/bar food, waitresses are very friendly and attentive. place is improving day by day!

i was hoping for a lot more out of the duke. there is nothing really wrong with the place, nothing exciting either. stock standard beers, nothing new to try. no specials meals on certain days of the week either. had the burger which wasnt bad, about a 6/10.

my second visit to the duke was much better than the first. the food has definitely improved, the steak was cooked as requested this time and the chips were great. the dessert menu was a little disappointing but thanks to the large portions during mains, we were filled up enough that we didn't need any sweets.
great atmosphere and service.
best pub meal i have had in northern suburbs.
fish and chips is usually a safe option but often end up being a disappointment. the duke has the best fish and chips in northern suburbs. light crispy batter, perfectly seasoned and cooked beautifully!! yum!

great place for dinner! always friendly staff! i see they have changed their menu which is still great, however... please bring back the garlic pizza! it was literally the best thing ever!

went for dinner with my family and it was an enjoyable experience. can't fault the customer service. especially the girl at the bar - she was nice and helpful with good product knowledge. also i absolutely love the decor - it's very homely and welcoming.

the vegetarian options are very very poor. please include more if you ever revamp the menu. i live right between the duke and the ashby and the only reason i keep choosing the ashby over the duke is because of their larger menu which allows for more flexibility to accommodate certain dietary requirements and preferences. otherwise, they are pretty on par with each other.

terrible! we have been a few times before and each time it has been quite good however this time we ordered there was over an hour wait for the food to come out. my partner and 2 others ordered surf and turf which was terrible. as soon as the food was served the smell of the pawns was like off seafood and they were not edible at all. no one at the table ate them and when we brought it to the staffs attention we were told that was what the prawns were supposed to taste like. the smell of the pawns put everyone at the table off their food for the rest of the meal. the other meals were average at best. will definately not be returning again.
