the blue fish restaurant

a group of us dined at the bluefish this past saturday night...we had a fantastic experience even though the restaurant was extremely busy. we were made to feel very welcome by our hostesses and seated promptly. the food was delicious and theserviceimpeccable. it is obvious why this restaurant is such a success ...everyone who works at this establishment works as if they own it. very impressive!!! will be back...the bluefish will be a regular for us!!! thank you!!!!

i have dined at the blue fish 5 times in the last month with party's varying in size from two to eight. we always dine in the courtyard or out front. each and every time ourserviceand meals were outstanding. blue fish has become the best upscale fishhouse in jax.

disappointed - what's with the waiters?. i've had 3 meals at blue fish - first with a ladies group in the private dining room: i think everyone was pleased, and i was anxious to return. second - lunch with a friend: our pompano with capers and lemon was just terrific, but theservicewas very iffy - salad came after the fish, and the bread after that, but we enjoyed it anyway. third - my husband and i came with another couple for dinner: i ordered the cold seafood plate and had to request a small fork and a nut cracker, no finger bowl was ever offered; my friend's fish tacos were mediocre; my husband's soft shell crab was tasty, but had no sauce to enhance - impression? boring dish. i don't think i'll get any of them to come back. too bad.

my wife and i love to go to blue fish for happy hour. their happy hour menu is amazing. the oysters are some of the best in town. their fish bites from their happy hour menu are amazing! also from their regular menu, their shrimp and grits are the best in town. if you like shrimp and grits, you will love these. they are the best i have ever had. great place to go with friends and socialize. they have valet parking right next door. definitely one of my favorite restaurants in jacksonville. i have never been disappointed with anything on their menu. theserviceis also great.

open table lost our reservation. the girls @ the front desk couldn't find our reservation that we had made through open table a week earlier,and we ended up being seated in the loud bar area upstairs @ happy hour. food was okservicemarginal. probably won't go back.

new owner! yea! i went last night because i heard ownership has changed hands. my past experience was horrible even though i gave it a try several times. last night was a pleasure! great device and food. i'm very pleased to see the tranformation. keep it up blue fish and i'll be back soon!

we have given this place three chances. badserviceon all three. sorry three strikes your out. just bad!

don't bother :(. i really wanted to love this place and had high expectations. the food was very overpriced and nothing to rave about,servicewas atrocious, my order was wrong, and parking was a nightmare. there are too many great restaurants in jacksonville to waste your time and money here.

very slow and unattentiveservice- food overpriced. don't expect a quick casual dinner at blue fish.serviceis beyond slow. have tried a couple of times, on busy night and quiet lunchtime and had the same experience.

food was ok, but feel it was overpriced considering other options in the neighborhood.

today was my third visit to the blue fish, and once again, they made me as satisfied as i would be if it was our annual thanksgiving meal. i am not exaggerating that comment by any means. theservicewas perfect, the food quality and portions was perfect, the feel of the restaurant was perfect, basically everything was perfect. i highly recommend anyone visiting or living in the jacksonville area check this place out! yummmm! can't wait to go back.

exceeded our expectations!!!. walked in and was immediately greeted. had the scallops appetizer that was parmesan-crusted and seared perfectly!!servicewas amazing!! loved the atmosphere and the entire experience was exceptional!! going back tomorrow with several friends for happy hour oysters!!!

customer review. my husband and i went to the blue fish this past thursday night. we had arrived about 4:30 so there were only a few customers in the restaurant. we have been a few times before (our friends know the owner). the first few times were delicious, however, this time, i cannot stress just how disappointed i was with the entire meal. i ordered the chicken picatta (which had been my favorite),, when it arrived i noticed it looked differently than usual... the chicken was not breaded nor the sauce as thick as it usually is. the taste was plain...no flavor.. the waiter offered to return one of the breasts to have it cooked longer (why it was not breaded... i have no idea)... did not help at all. he even brought out extra lemons for me to add to see if it added any flavor... nothing! my husband eats anything and everything so i gave him the chicken. the poatatoes, spinach and asparagus was too salty as well..... i was starving so i went a head and ate the vegitables. it was obvious that i was disappointed because the waiter had the manager discount my meal by 40%... i didn't care about that... if my husband and i were going to pay $60,00 to $100.00 for a meal, we expect the best.... this was not their best. the waiter even told us they had a new cook and he even knew the chicken picatta was not prepared the way it usually is... it would have been nice if the manager would have at least come out and apologized... the more i thought about it i decided to call the restaurant twice the day after to speak to the manager in which i was placed on hold by the first person that answered the phone.... after she told me the manager was too busy to take my call... was on hold for ten minutes and no one ever came back to the phone. i called once again and gave my name and phone number and to this day my call still has not been returned. needless to say, we will not be dining at the blue fish ever again after this experience. even if the food was horrible, it is still good customerserviceto acknowledge a customer... if you truly want your business to succeed.....

seafood was very fresh. servings are small and overpriced. frozen-to-bake dinner rolls were served sparingly.servicewas good, good was mediocre. not going again.

fabulous dining !!!!!!!. the bluefish restaurant and oyster bar is by far the best seafood restaurants in jacksonville. i celebrated my birthday with friends and family and everything was perfection!!! the food is second to none...theserviceis awesome and the staff goes out of their way to make your dining experience perfect. our group ordered a wonderful array of appetizers...which were delicious. our entrees varied...there are so many wonderful choices! each and every entree was cooked to perfection. we sat in their beautiful courtyard .....what a place!!!! the bluefish restaurant and oyster is awesome....a definite 10 ....we will all be back. check it out...it's a real jewel!!

theservicewas good, but the food was subpar. the english muffin was burnt, and the drinks are not even a full shot's worth. our server was very pleasant, but the quality (and consequently, the prices) need to improve before this place can truly gain a foothold in the community.

fantastic!. after seeing the 78% i wasn't expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised. the food,serviceand atmosphere was great. my fish was cooked to perfection with the most amazing burr blanc sauce. the wait staff was knowledgeable and accommodating to my diet.
