pretty restaurant but disguisting food. worst thai food ever i have ever had and i am half thai. absolutely disguisting! my advice- try theirsushiif you have to go there, not the greatest but better than their thai food.

best pad thai in newport news!sushiis best when ken is working.

my favorite newport news restaurant. absolutely love this place - my favorites on the peninsula, including williamsburg. the excellence here starts with owner ken, a thai native who is also a fully trainedsushichef. you will usually see him behind thesushibar overseeing all facets of restaurant operation and greeting returning customers as though they were family. the thai dishes are excellent and authentic, and i've sought and enjoyed a lot of great thai from nyc to atlanta. thesushiis unfailingly fresh, and well presented, and japanese menu offerings are excellent also. i was one of the first customers here on opening day a number of years ago, and have regularly dined here, including entertaining out-of-town guests. i have never been disappointed.

so i am not so sure about these bad reviews, but my experience was totally different! just went there tonight with my wife. we sat at thesushibar. our waitress was great, the gentlemen making thesushi(father and son i believe) were very entertaining and made amazing sushi! we never needed anything; the wait staff were right there when our drinks were low, our food came out at perfect times (appetizer,sushithen meal). the appetizer, a couple of beers and 2 of their specialsushirolls was the perfect amount of food so we took our food to-go.

long story short: try this place out, it is amazing.

we had a very bad experience at thaijindesu. my husband and i used to love this restaurant but tonight has changed our opinion for good.

tonight we waited 10 min to be seated because there was no hostess ( there were 3 other couples waiting) when we got seated we waited 15 min before we were greeted by our "friendly" server. she did not appologize. we ordered our drinks, 2 beers. again waited for 10 min for our beers. we ordered our food and an appetizer of steamed dumplings. the dumplings (luke warm) took 35 min and again had to wait for hot sauce. finally got food and mysushiwas not cold and my husbands pad thai was bland because she never even asked us how hot he wanted it. we never saw our waitress again until we were done with our crappy meal.....
asked for check.... guess what... waited for 20 min to pay

i am so upset not only because we used to love this restaurant but she didn't nor manager offered an apology or free beer....
do not waste your time or money

dinner sunday night. i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. first of all we were greated by very unhappy waitress. we waited 40 minutes for thesushiwhich arrived warm and then the other two dishes arrrived 5-10 mintues later.
when ask to have the late dish comp. the waitress never returned to our table ..... it was a horrible experience.

hit or miss. thaijindesu seems to have a few different cooks, or just high turnover. the service is good and the atmosphere very nice. however, the food is sometimes excellent, other times just average. theirsushiis pretty good, but they stir odd things into their noodle dishes. for example, their pad thai has huge chunks of bell peppers, completely throwing off the taste. the pad thai is also much blander than i'm used to, with very little spice or zing. still, the restaurant seems to be the only good thai restaurant in town, so i'll keep going.

great food and nice atmosphere it was good to have both thai and japanese at the same place. thesushiwas fresh and flavorful.

the best thai around. my husband and i love this place. greatsushiand the best thai food. we're totally hooked on their chicken pad thai. i often try other dishes but can't seem to get enough of their pad thai. their curry dishes are wonderful, appetizers are fantastic. i haven't found anything i didn't like here. and ken is a great host. we used to eat at his other place pattaya in york county all the time before he opened thaijindesu. both are great!

one of our favorites. this is one of our favorites. the service is always excellent and we have never had a bad meal here.thesushichefs think my daughter is so cute, they like to give her extra if we sit at thesushibar. we've been here early, late, lunch, dinner - always a pleasure. i highly recommend it as one of the best places on the peninsula.

goodsushihere, nice décor and good prices for rolls. i wan to try their interesting thai selections.
