pretty restaurant but disguisting food. worst thai food ever i have ever had and i am half thai. absolutely disguisting! my advice- try their sushi if you have to go there, not the greatest but better than their thai food.

we decided to go here for our anniversary and totally enjoyed the experiance. the atmosphere, employees, food and drinks were truly enjoyable. the price for 2 people were less than 3 digits to include tip. the food portions were not gigantic, but just enough! the patrons are spread out far enough so that a soft conversation could be enjoyed. we totally recommend this dining facility to all.

i went for lunch and had the fresh rolls as an appetizer, which was very refreshing and had a really good peanut dipping sauce.  i got the red curry with extra spice, and it definitely lit me up.  great spice, great coconut flavor and the chicken was satisfying.

excellent. always. freshest in the area by far, and let me give you a tip from someone who has worked in this industry for 8 years... when the head chef is also the owner of the restaurant, you are going to get great food.

delicious food. went for dinner with my family. was very nice...it is a little restaurant, staff was friendly. nice atmosphere. the food was delicious. i ordered sushi, my husband ordered drunken noodles and my kids had fried rice. everything tasted wonderful. very generous portions too. a little bit pricey to go on a regular basis though.

good food and an old favorite. i have been here many times over the last few years and the food and service has been consistently good. at one time, thaijindesu was one of my favorites, but i haven't been as frequent a customer lately. i would say that's because it's a little pricey and not particularly convenient to where i live. i've had their sushi, pad thai, curries, katsudon, and, most recently, the sweet and sour fish. you really can't go wrong with katsudon. who doesn't like breaded and fried pork? that is, if you eat pork in the first place. the sweet and sour fish was very good too. the fish itself was flaky, lightly breaded (not as light as tempura but not as heavy as american style fried fish), and didn't have that "fishy" taste. it's accompanied by onions and pineapple and both went great with the sauce. pad thai and curries are trickier because they're done so many different ways at different restaurants. your enjoyment of those dishes will depend on your particular taste. i think those dishes are good here but not superb. the location in port warwick is great, but you'll pay a little extra because of it. it's nice to sit outside on a warm day. the dining area is a little small so they don't have a lot of room for large parties. call ahead if you have a party of six or more just to be sure you won't be waiting for a table for a half hour or more. our waiter the last time, sonny, was friendly and very helpful. thaijindesu if definitely worth a try and i know i'll be back at some time in the future. it's also a pretty good place to take a date. give it a try. it may become one of your favorites.

my favorite newport news restaurant. absolutely love this place - my favorites on the peninsula, including williamsburg. the excellence here starts with owner ken, a thai native who is also a fully trained sushi chef. you will usually see him behind the sushi bar overseeing all facets of restaurant operation and greeting returning customers as though they were family. the thai dishes are excellent and authentic, and i've sought and enjoyed a lot of great thai from nyc to atlanta. the sushi is unfailingly fresh, and well presented, and japanese menu offerings are excellent also. i was one of the first customers here on opening day a number of years ago, and have regularly dined here, including entertaining out-of-town guests. i have never been disappointed.

so i am not so sure about these bad reviews, but my experience was totally different! just went there tonight with my wife. we sat at the sushi bar. our waitress was great, the gentlemen making the sushi (father and son i believe) were very entertaining and made amazing sushi! we never needed anything; the wait staff were right there when our drinks were low, our food came out at perfect times (appetizer, sushi then meal). the appetizer, a couple of beers and 2 of their special sushi rolls was the perfect amount of food so we took our food to-go.

long story short: try this place out, it is amazing.

we had a very bad experience at thaijindesu. my husband and i used to love this restaurant but tonight has changed our opinion for good.

tonight we waited 10 min to be seated because there was no hostess ( there were 3 other couples waiting) when we got seated we waited 15 min before we were greeted by our "friendly" server. she did not appologize. we ordered our drinks, 2 beers. again waited for 10 min for our beers. we ordered our food and an appetizer of steamed dumplings. the dumplings (luke warm) took 35 min and again had to wait for hot sauce. finally got food and my sushi was not cold and my husbands pad thai was bland because she never even asked us how hot he wanted it. we never saw our waitress again until we were done with our crappy meal.....
asked for check.... guess what... waited for 20 min to pay

i am so upset not only because we used to love this restaurant but she didn't nor manager offered an apology or free beer....
do not waste your time or money
