have been here several times and will continue to come back. fast & friendly staff, fresh sushi, and a menu that has yet to disappoint.

holy basil chicken -- without basil!. i've been to thaijindesu three times within the last 3 years and the food has not improved. each time, i was hoping for a better experience. i am half thai and know authentic thai food.

my friend ordered drunken noodles and i ordered holy basil (with chicken). these dishes should not contain the same exact ingredients. they both contained red bell peppers, onions, straw mushrooms, sliced zucchini and a red chili sauce. however, both entrees were missing a key ingredient -- holy basil. when i mentioned it to the server, she said they ran out of holy basil. well, she should have mentioned that when we ordered. i think they were assuming we were typical americans and ignorant about thai food. she offered a 10% discount on the meal and brought out a free dish of mangoes and sticky rice.

later, the owner stopped by and asked how we liked our meal. i told him it was missing holy basil. he only responded,"oh oh!" and walked away with our ticket and credit card.

thaijindesu is a big disappointment. i believe they are better at making sushi.

if you want an authentic thai flavor, visit krungthai. the shopping center looks a little shady, but the restaurant and the food make up for that.

hit or miss. thaijindesu seems to have a few different cooks, or just high turnover. the service is good and the atmosphere very nice. however, the food is sometimes excellent, other times just average. their sushi is pretty good, but they stir odd things into their noodle dishes. for example, their pad thai has huge chunks of bell peppers, completely throwing off the taste. the pad thai is also much blander than i'm used to, with very little spice or zing. still, the restaurant seems to be the only good thai restaurant in town, so i'll keep going.

great thai food and fresh sushi. i love eating here! great thai and fresh sushi. this area is a little pricey but the food is worth it. ask for the extra chili flake so you can spice it up how you like it. parking can be a little bit of a pain at times, but not a lot of good thai places in newport news to choose from. the service has always been prompt and friendly, you can get in and out for lunch in a timely manner, which i like.

great food and nice atmosphere it was good to have both thai and japanese at the same place. the sushi was fresh and flavorful.

worst chicken pad thai i've ever had. it was sweeter than an ice cream dessert and smelled burnt.

the best thai around. my husband and i love this place. great sushi and the best thai food. we're totally hooked on their chicken pad thai. i often try other dishes but can't seem to get enough of their pad thai. their curry dishes are wonderful, appetizers are fantastic. i haven't found anything i didn't like here. and ken is a great host. we used to eat at his other place pattaya in york county all the time before he opened thaijindesu. both are great!

one of our favorites. this is one of our favorites. the service is always excellent and we have never had a bad meal here.the sushi chefs think my daughter is so cute, they like to give her extra if we sit at the sushi bar. we've been here early, late, lunch, dinner - always a pleasure. i highly recommend it as one of the best places on the peninsula.

good sushi here, nice décor and good prices for rolls. i wan to try their interesting thai selections.
