thai ginger-redmond town center

yearning for great... was disappointed. i had heard a lot of recommendations for thai ginger and we were in the mood for somegreatthai food. my wife and i invited four other guests to join us for a nice night out. we are new to redmond and still searching for all of thegreatplaces to eat in the area. i have exceptionally high standards for thai food since i was born in thailand and have lived there off and on for over 14 years. i speak fluent thai. we ordered 7 dishes and not one was a dish that i would ever recommend to anybody else to eat. the portions were small and the dishes were bland. the rice was mushy and the service was mediocre. it was so bad that we skipped the dessert selections. when i go out for thai food i'm expecting agreatblend of sharp flavors (sweet, spicy, salty, fishy, citrus, etc.). at thai ginger i got none of that. we will not be returning. not at least if i'm paying.

ceci n'est pas un thai restaurant. this is definitely not a thai restaurant. someone took the whole crew from a cheap delivery joint and dropped it into a nice thai inspired setting.
the food is bland, white-washed. super sweet sauces and none of thegreatmix of flavours that makes thai food so great.
there are better thai places in redmond.

tasty thai, sawadee kup. ate at thai ginger redmond on saturday night after viewing the expendables. food was much better than the movie! had asparagus prawns - were tasty and good. i like things spicy and they delivered - asked for 4 star and it was good. my friend had chicken wrap; i had to steal a test taste. it was good. meat was hot and juicy, wrap was cold and crispy.

we were the last people in but the servers were pleasant and friendly. served us well, made sure the waters were refilled, etc. i noticed they did have other duties to do as it was 930 pm and they were prepping to close. right amount of attention was paid - we don't like having someone hovering all the time.

very tasty, good service. the food here is excellent - the phad see ew and the tom ka soup are both especially yummy here.greatfor a bite if you happen to be in town center.

so damn noisy!. thai gingers food is consistent. covenient to the town center movie. no surprises, hard to love any of it. but the noise, oy! greatplace to take someone you have no interest in talking to.
