poppy, say it ain't so!. returned to thc to get one of their juicy hamburgers on a poppy seed bun. no more poppy seed buns! what . . . . ?! i was devastated! i couldn't imagine what had possessed management to make this change. "it wasn't broke, . . . ".

tried to keep an open mind as i took a big bite of my bacon cheese burger. not only did it not look the same, it didn't taste the same. in addition, the patty was over-cooked and thin. tons of lettuce and a just barely past green slab or two of tomato with the usual pickles . . . again, just not the same and not as satisfying as they used to be.

never have tried anything else on the menu 'cause i always came here for the burger. guess i will have to try to find anotherplacenow that serves these great poppy seed buns, but when chester's quit doing it, i believe thc was the lastplacei knew of that did.

the poppy is also a flower. been coming here since it opened and have never had a bad burger. that seems a little back handed so let me say that the burgers have always been good. regardless of how i order it, they always seem to get it right. one of very few places that still serve the burger on a poppy seed bun. i mean what's a hamburger without a little opium (the poppy seed is used to make opium for those that did not know). so don't go eat a texas hamburger right before you take that drug test for a new employer (just kidding!)

the pile of fries that are served along with the burger is substantial. a not so ravenous couple might even split an order. besides the beef version, the turkey burger is also tasty with plenty of seasoning to overcome the bland nature inherent in a ground fowl burger.

not too shabby. texas hamburger company reminds me a lot of chester's hamburgers because the meat is thin and smashed on a flat top and the fries are made of fresh cut potatoes with skins but they are flaccid and limp - not crispy at all. the atmosphere has the feel of dining in a two story house. i usually prefer a thick burger more like fuddrucker's which is just up the street so i usually go there, but a thin burger is a nice change once in a while. if you prefer thin burgers, give thisplacea try.
